To think Harry and Meg should be banned from the Queens Jubilee?

CallMeCatherine · 28/05/2022 20:58

Why are they bothering?

They hate the UK, the RF, the whole institution and couldn’t wait to escape, accused the RF and British public of being racist, not welcoming Meg, or caring about her mental health. Her SIL even made her cry allegedly! They did a public interview about it being so hard being a Duke and Duchess in the UK that they just had to flee to a California mansion so they could be Royal there instead.

Do we as the public want to see them at a publicly funded celebration of our Queens 70 years on our throne? All they’ve done is embarrass the monarchy selling stories and their connection.

AIBU to think the Queen should have cut them orf?

[Yes, Andrew has massively embarrassed the monarchy as well but he didn’t flounce from the UK and give interviews about how the RF let him down.]

I don’t think anyone is defending Andrew . As far as I can see there is almost 100% agreement that he is an arrogant , horrible person but the thread is about H and M and whether they should be at the Jubilee .
It’s up to HM but I hope H and M keep a low profile .
I still don’t buy the racist aspect . She was warmly welcomed by the British public and I certainly never saw or heard any racist comments.
It was her ( and H’s) subsequent behaviour that caused the bad feeling .

Someone who takes a Netflix crew along to a site where 19 kids died isn't someone I want to see, thanks all the same.

Chilledchablis1 · 28/05/2022 21:16

Totally agree @Badger1970

Indiana2021 · 28/05/2022 21:16

our queen's 70 years on our throne?

Bit intense OP. I'm thinking that you're either Amanda Holden or Nicholas Witchell.

And Andrew didn't 'massively embarrass' the Royal Family. He bought his way out of a serious sexual assault situation and is clearly dodgy as fuck.

How weird that you find H & M 'flouncing' to LA more offensive than that. I'd keep on running if I was part of that family.

itsgettingweird · 28/05/2022 21:16

HRTQueen · 28/05/2022 21:03

Oh please families fall out and make up

some areas of the press stirred up their racist readers they know exactly what they were doing

anyone who cares that much should really need to get a life they are not your family it must be incredibly disappointing to many that they want to spend time together

Agree with this.

Constant posts of people not caring about H and M and then actually caring so ,I have they seem to personally know all the ins and outs of their lives and relationship with HM the Queen.

Stop thinking what the press tell us is true and let the RF live their lives how they choose.

I'm interested and will celebrate the jubilee based solely on what the Queen has done for our country and in her life. After all that's the point of the celebration. Not what her family have done during that time.

WibblyWobblyJane · 28/05/2022 21:16

I think it’s better for them to be there than not be there. But I hope their cameras are banned and they just focus on the Queen instead of using it to get more attention.

SabrePrattler · 28/05/2022 21:17

Meghan and Harry Derangement Disorder still in full flow on MN.

Giraffesandbottoms · 28/05/2022 21:18

@Chilledchablis1

you know, the garden party at the palace last week (no idea what it’s called other than the garden party)

itsgettingweird · 28/05/2022 21:18

Oh and attending a celebration of his grandmothers life as Queen is hardly comparable to being a fully fledged paid up member of the institution day in and day out.

Surely even the most challenged in independent thinking can figure that much out?!

VladmirsPoutine · 28/05/2022 21:19

Oh another Meghan bashing thread. It's certainly been just over 15minutes, you're running late!

don't people have annoying people in their own extended families to obsess over? surely we all do.

OversBo · 28/05/2022 21:20

They are all a bunch of parasites, who cares?

pedropony76 · 28/05/2022 21:21

Why are people obsessed with what Harry and Megan have done? Andrew is a fucking sex offender (allegedly 🤔)

These are the best comments! OP why don’t you just get a grip and not worry over things that have nothing to do with you. You and others in this thread sound like the type so stand outside of Buckingham palace to celebrate the Jubilee on a bloody bank holiday weekend. So pathetic

Chilledchablis1 · 28/05/2022 21:21

@Giraffesandbottoms

Andrew has not attended any garden parties this year . He ( rightfully) no longer carries out any official duties .

[Yes, Andrew has massively embarrassed the monarchy as well but he didn’t flounce from the UK and give interviews about how the RF let him down.]

Hahahaa OP this is deluded. You’d rather protect a pedophile that a black woman who spoke up when she was mistreated due to her race? Shame. Meg and Harry have publicly maintained that the Queen hasn’t done anything wrong - so why can they celebrate her Jubilee? They left the RF for their own safety.

Mistreated how? And how is it due to her race?

Badtasteflump · 28/05/2022 21:23

I genuinely don't understand why anybody would care who may or may not be attending the Jubilee. However I would rather we had no royal family, and therefore no Jubilee to 'celebrate' at all. Aside from that OP, I find it quite shocking that you appear to rate a sex offender more highly than two people who are at worst a bit up themselves and irritating.

ChicCroissant · 28/05/2022 21:24

I think there's an element of the Queen wanting her family around her at the celebrations and that's fair enough, but also if they are over here and then Harry releases his book slating the RF he'll look hypocritical. OTOH, without the link to the Royals the book isn't going to draw a lot of interest so he's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Harry has also gone very quiet about his legal case against the Home Office, who were asking for their costs to be paid at the start of the case.

SabrePrattler · 28/05/2022 21:25

[Yes, Andrew has massively embarrassed the monarchy as well but he didn’t flounce from the UK and give interviews about how the RF let him down.

No but he did give a cracking interview on Newsnight. A beautifully misjudged one.

PeekAtYou · 28/05/2022 21:25

Andrew did far more than embarrass the monarchy and country.

I'm not convinced that they will turn up with the kids- especially as the NF crew won't be filming up close. I think they know that the public reception won't be good.

I'd imagine that the Queen both loves them and hates what they've done but she should be allowed to invite who she wants.

@Chilledchablis1 you don’t ‘buy‘ the racist aspect. Really? She was warmly welcomed by the British public. Really?? Is this some sort of joke. Anyone with eyes and ears can see that the media as well as your average Dom Dick and Harry have been VERY racist to her. It’s not for you to decide she didn’t experience any racism when you haven’t walked in her shoes. It’s funny how someone can say, ‘I’ve faced racism since xyz’ and a white person (which I’m assuming you are) can respond and be like ‘well no actually you haven’t.’ How dismissive and downright rude

LondonWolf · 28/05/2022 21:27

I agree. Andrew too.

However the queen wants all her family there it seems, so ok, but none of the public events. Private family events are no one else's business.

Chilledchablis1 · 28/05/2022 21:30

Yes she was warmly welcomed and no, I have never heard anyone make a racist comment about her . Criticising her behaviour does not equate to racism .
She has made unsubstantiated allegations .
It’s not being rude.

Giraffesandbottoms · 28/05/2022 21:31

@Chilledchablis1

i have no idea why I thought he had been! I was sure I had seen a photo of him there 🤦🏻‍♀️ I stand corrected

Chilledchablis1 · 28/05/2022 21:33

@Giraffesandbottoms

No problem . One of my friends was there so I was sure about it !
