failing financial stability

He owns an island.

Just a newbie.

Fully behind Johnny but I think Amber will take it, based on technicalities.

And a village in France

😄😄
I'm still chuckling at that depiction.

Oh, he's playing a concert tonight apparently.

Power can take many forms and is incredibly complex. You can be powerful in some situations and the powerless one in others. Just because you have wealth, status, are an older age, male etc., it doesn't mean you hold all the power in your close relationships or that you are immune to exploitation or abuse.

Completely agree Sozzler

TiddyTidTwo · 29/05/2022 22:22

Yes his texts are shocking but he did hand in his phone though, so we don't know what AH texted to anyone.

His texts aren't the nub of her case.

Did he physically and sexually assault her is.

What annoys me is none of this would be admissable in a criminal trial.

ObjectionHearsay · 29/05/2022 22:24

He'd lost millions. He owes the tax man millions. He was failing financially. Just because he has assets right now doesn't mean they can't be liquidated to pay off debts. But I digress.

my descriptions are just what others are stating on SM and here to be honest in previous posts. With regard to both parties.

I'm trying to be fair to both polar views that are present here right now, and attempt to explain why some people are not seeing the same power imbalance as others.

My opinion is irrelevant.

CaffeineAndCrochet · 29/05/2022 22:48

For me, AH's story hangs together better. The way the abuse gradually gets worse, how it really escalates when she begins to fight back. The way Camille Vasquez described her during the closing as someone who would claw at Johnny to stay, or hit him so he wouldn't leave, doesn't sound like someone who had the power in the relationship. And he didn't just leave for an hour to cool down. He'd go off for days on a drink/drugs binge.

I listened to a half hour recording that included the infamous 'tell the world Johnny'. The recording supports her account of the relationship but that snippet, out of context, was clearly released to do maximum damage to her credibility. Genuinely, up until then, I believed they were both abusive to each other. I now think that he was very much the primary abuser in that relationship and this trial is an extension of that abuse.

I agree with that, but it doesn't change my opinion of this specifically.

Fair enough. To be honest, I don't think any of us are changing each others opinions much. This is definitely a highly contested topic where people are interpreting the evidence differently. It just goes to show what a tough job the jury will probably have in reaching a unanimous decision.

minutesturntohours · 29/05/2022 23:50

Toxic and abusive wise - both as bad as each other.

I'm just not sure I believe that he regularly beat her and she was a 'victim' per se. the truth will out.

Boulshired · 30/05/2022 08:09

The first trial, Depp lost his evidence due to court proceedings, this trial Amber has lost her evidence and her photographs cannot be verified. Strangely the case is now about the voice recording and video snippets that were not in the first trial. If you choose to hear Depps guilt from the recording but somehow minimise Ambers and vice versa then there is little anyone can do to change your mind. You already have a rigid opinion. Amber has lost her credibility and Depp has destroyed his character. But in regards to violence as the words out of theirs mouths in court cannot be trusted the audio leads to Amber and less (but still) implications to Depp. The impartial witnesses lead to Amber. Amber leads to Amber. That does not clear Depp and I do not think he will win but it has damaged MeToo and it has damaged the idea of a fair trials with honesty- it’s who lies the least rather than who is truthful, including witnesses.

RosieRooster83 · 30/05/2022 08:56

As a side note, apparently JD is currently in Sheffield, U.K. He made an appearance at Sheffield City Hall with Jeff Beck.

ENoeuf · 30/05/2022 09:00

I was just coming to post that. Going all out for the good PR

But its no different from AH being in all these opinion pieces in the MSM.
Both of them have their PR people putting forward their narrative.

ENoeuf · 30/05/2022 09:46

Right busy she's not making personal spontaneous appearances.

Johnny wannabe rebel rock god pretends to be a rock stay he does look a little pathetic

can you imagine if Amber Heard suddenly showed op in a play over the weekend I dread to think what JD’s deranged mob of obsessive fans would do

Blackbird2020 · 30/05/2022 10:42

But this trial was never to find whether JD was a victim of DV. It was to find whether he was the perp of DV.

It just so happens that the evidence presented seemed to show that he was in fact a victim of DV.

That people think he should ‘behave’ in the way appropriate to a victim of DV is odd, to say the least. That was never his focus (unlike AH).

TiddyTidTwo · 30/05/2022 10:45

Also after 6 years and that long trial, why shouldn't he play, in Sheffield of all places (and pre arranged)

AH has gone to her £1m new abode in Joshua Tree.

So what?

TiddyTidTwo · 30/05/2022 10:34

Like this you mean?

Eve Barlow was thrown out of the court for using her phone, twice. The judge issued an order that she was not allowed into the courtroom for the rest of the trial

I'll see if I can find it

TiddyTidTwo · 30/05/2022 10:52

Hypocritical as well: (the tweeter I previously posted, not AH)
