My understanding is that each side always pays their own legal fees in the US. It is one of the reasons they are so keen on going to court - there is no chance of having to pay the other side's costs if you lose.

AH won on the statement where Waldman said that she roughed up the place and staged it as there was no evidence she did that. JD won on all 3 statements so the jury did not believe that he abused her

He’s won the case. It’s a pity they haven’t anything better to do with their money. The only winners here are the lawyers

So is it Waldman who has to pay her the 2m, AH is even blaming his lawyers now, no self awareness that she abused him and others

I'm a DV victim who believes the evidence means the right outcome was reached.

So Johnny won. Now she has to pay him 15 million (instead of the 50 million he was asking). Two peoples careers down the drain basically. Hers more than him as she was not that established as an actor. After all the dirty laundry aired in the trial regarding drugs, addiction, misoginy, lying to film insurances, coming late to films sets etc... I don't see him working for Hollywood, big blockbusters or Disney anymore, but he will get Independent movies and lots of bad guy/troubled lad roles. Her career on the other hand is toast.

I guess this outcome warns people that before accusing someone for domestic abuse you need to come up with some (very) solid evidence such as proper police/medical records that the jurors deemed she didn't have.

Moral of the story: Have proper/solid evidence before accusing someone of domestic violence.
