Two duvets / king sided bed

AIBU to think having two single duvets on a king sized bed is mental

Why not have a big fluffy king sized one

I know someone who has two single light duvets it makes no sense

AIBU?

We have 2 single duvets and it's amazing! I used to find when DH rolled over it moved the duvet and disturbed my sleep. Plus I like it to my chin and he likes it tucked under my arms. I also have a lower tog than DH because I like to tuck it round me much more. I'd never go back to sharing a duvet!

picklemewalnuts · 26/05/2022 19:48

Depends if you're sharing with anyone. He has his, I have mine, we both sleep much better. We have different weights, and he can't steal mine in the night. Result.

This guy is apparently single?

Two single duvets is the norm where I'm from and I remember some of my UK friends (and then boyfriend) finding it strange.
I just believed it to be better with your own duvets both for undisturbed sleep and hygiene.

RandomUsernameHere · 26/05/2022 19:50

It's much easier to change two single duvet covers than a king size. I really want to switch to two singles but DH not keen, so he now has to help put the cover back on Grin

But if you were single would you have two single duvets on a king sized bed?

More to the point, why do you care?

creamedcustard · 26/05/2022 19:54

I have two double duvets on mine.

Well yes - for when you had, erm, visitors Grin

ThereWillBeSnacks · 26/05/2022 19:55

We have two double duvets on a super king bed.

Plus a super king duvet on top when it's cold #cosy.

But yes, if I was sleeping alone I'd probably just have one mahoosive duvet.

My parents have always had 2 single duvets on their bed. They like different thickness ones. Everyone's happy.
Why does it matter what people have on their own personal beds Hmm

KarrotKake · 26/05/2022 19:57

We used to have a king and a single on a ginormous bed. 2 doubles would be OK. I personally find a single a bit small, so it wouldn't be my first choice.

Davros · 26/05/2022 19:57

YABU two duvets for two people on any size bed is the only correct option. We do put a full size bedspread over but that isn't always on, depending on the weather

greatblueheron · 26/05/2022 19:58

We have 2 double duvets on ours; both much happier with our own levels of bedding.

knitteddollblue · 26/05/2022 19:58

Yep! When I've lived alone I have always still just kept my two single duvets.

knitteddollblue · 26/05/2022 20:00

@Scandicc would you not want big fluffy one!!

I've always had two single duvets on my bed, it's the norm in my home country.
Besides, I only like just the duvet cover with no duvet on my side, otherwise I'd melt.

I grew up in Norway and 2 single duvets is normal
