Many of the posts on this thread are heart-breaking. I checked back on WhatsApp and I was planning to use the childcare get-out clause so my kids could see my FIL on his 70th birthday. He couldn't have a party.

Boris is a piece of shit. Fuck him and fuck his supercilious cronies.

countrygirl99 · 24/05/2022 04:26

That was a period my very frail 93 year old dad was in and out of hospital and my mum, who has alzheimers was struggling to understand why she couldn't visit. A couple of weeks before I had had to explain to her that he had had a heart attack and had pneumonia and there was a very high chance he wouldn't make it. The doctor felt it needed to be a face to face conversation but we couldn't go in so had a phone conversation with me to relay to her. I had to have similar conversations a couple more times that winter.

DockOTheBay · 24/05/2022 04:34

I had a look back through my phone photos and calendar. During the day I took my preschool aged kids to a country park with my grandma. In the evening did a zoom meeting with our 10 remaining Brownies.

Calendar says my husband went out for a curry but I assume that was cancelled.

ImWithMuriel · 24/05/2022 04:45

Trying to understand Tier 1, 2 and 3 and feeling jealous of people who lived in Cornwall (according to my social media anyway).

Mothership4two · 24/05/2022 05:09

@whenwillthemadnessend ·

Can't remember and nor do I care

^^This

Actually found the emotional reporting of this a while back quite distasteful. I'm no Boris fan. Don't care about KS lockdown curry/drinks either

MajorCarolDanvers · 24/05/2022 05:37

I was on holiday in Lanzarote

OdeToSadDisco · 24/05/2022 05:39

13th, probably just WFH and maybe a walk. 14th was mean to be DDs birthday treat but the venue had to close due to the restrictions.

Rosehugger · 24/05/2022 05:43

Like most days in 2020, I had nothing in my diary and didn't take any photos.

MintJulia · 24/05/2022 05:47

No idea. Probably applying for another job, getting on with sorting out my issue of the day, which is why I couldn't care less what someone else of either faction, was doing.

Hesma · 24/05/2022 05:51

Celebrating my daughter’s 8th birthday with a visit to the park as we weren’t allowed a party 😞

urrrgh46 · 24/05/2022 05:54

I know EXACTLY what I was doing!! I was giving birth! I'd spent 3 days alone in hospital with DH unable to visit. Had no mobile reception on my phone and we weren't allowed to leave the ward. He was allowed to come when they took me onto delivery for for my waters breaking. I didn't progress, had a c section and DH was told to leave 40 minutes after our baby was born. Thankfully baby wasn't my first and I was able to cope pretty well - they also sent me home via the back door and a long walk to the car 24hrs later - DH wasn't allowed even to come to the ward to pick me up!

Thisisit2022 · 24/05/2022 06:01

Walked to my job in education and back in the rain because the Headteacher had banned car sharing. Had a crap day with shitty kids.

Workwork21 · 24/05/2022 06:04

Probably on mumsnet being told I'm killing teachers for keeping my child in school during the closure

racquel86 · 24/05/2022 06:05

Working - frontline NHS nurse 🤷🏻‍♀️

DreamingofItaly2023 · 24/05/2022 06:08

It was my birthday and I am in Wales so we weren’t in lockdown. I had an unsuccessful job interview then took my DS on a soft play play date. Didn’t feel like celebrating my birthday due to the interview so waited until the weekend to go out for dinner.

the reason I was desperate for a new job was because I worked in a school and was at breaking point due to the pressure caused by COVID and its restrictions. Three weeks later I had a complete breakdown and haven’t worked since.

I have no idea, because it's not important, and I don't know anybody who cares in the slightest what the PM may have been doing. Such a tedious subject.....

Hey Boris, how are you?

Why do people make these sweeping statements? I care. I know a lot of people that care.I would actually prefer to have a PM who didn't lie to Parliament.

It might be tedious to you. It isn't to a lot of people. Yes, it is important.

OverByYer · 24/05/2022 06:26

Some terribly sad posts here, and sacrifices made too.
THAT is why I and others are so angry towards Johnson and his lackeys. The sooner we rid ourselves of him the better.

Says the lone voice on the thread of one of Boris's subservients.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/05/2022 06:32

I went to work IN PERSON then went to jump at the sportscenter. I cant remember if it was outdoors at that point.

MadameFantabulosa · 24/05/2022 06:34

I was in Eastern Europe, working. I was having a drink at an outside bar with a friend. All indoor bars and restaurants were closed. It was snowing. DH and family were in U.K. and I hadn’t seen them for months.

EllaPaella · 24/05/2022 06:37

Most of us care that our PM and his cronies are corrupt. How can some people be so selfish when others have sacrificed so much? Makes you wonder why we bothered. But still his little minions will keep voting for him.

cptartapp · 24/05/2022 06:37

Wondering how to make my sons 18th in any way memorable at home.

Bramblecrumble21 · 24/05/2022 06:39

Working in a hospital, trust was attempting to keep it clean site at the time to enable catch up on operations and other services. On boxing day it had expanded into one of the theatres to enable treatment of large number of covid patients.

MeanderingGently · 24/05/2022 06:39

I'm afraid I'm another one who really doesn't care what Boris was doing, and I think this concentration on parties, two years down the line, is nothing short of a witch hunt. The media is constantly feeding this nonsense, so that the public are hyped up about it. For heaven's sake, move on. Boris isn't the sole cause of COVID and, even if he made some unwise judgements, shouldn't be the scapegoat for the entire pandemic. He also knows what COVID is like, he had it and was in intensive care for a while, which many of us weren't.

Kier Starmer was caught having a drink too, have they hounded him?

I have said this on MumsNet before, and I'll say it again..... I had COVID and suffered badly (before the vaccinations); I also lost relatives and some close colleagues who all died of COVID. But they died of a disease, not because Boris had a drink or spent 15 minutes dropping in on a gathering. Quite frankly, he could have danced with 200 of them on Downing Street roof and it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference, I really couldn't care what he did and I wish the media would bloody well drop the subject and report some real news. It's only because those who hate Boris are hoping to stir up enough shit to try to topple him....shame on you.
