Bearing in mind I have no legal background, this is just my understanding.

The motion TMZ have brought is to stop the ex-reporter from testifying at all.

They are all speculating on what he will say, for example, who leaked the video and divorce to TMZ. But no-one knows if that is what he will say.

The judge ruled she would not the ex-reporter from testifying.

However, she made it clear that if he starts to testify about leaks, then she will deal with any objections when it happens.

So, the ex-reporter can testify (but still not sure if JD will call him)
But, we do not know what he will say. He very well may not say who leaked stuff to TMZ, so don't get too excited 😁

Long and short though is TMZ and AH team are pissed off.

Actually I don't think this should be allowed. If people can't leak stuff to the press without fear of a court later allowing it that's concerning. Not for this particularly but I can think of times people would be in genuine fear of retribution.

AH said she didn't know how her video got into the hands of TMZ and it was nothing to do with her. TMZ could answer that question.

That's why they can appeal against being appealing and the judge makes a case by case decision.

Where are people's thoughts - straw poll time! On a scale of 1-5 with:

1. A is completely making it up, knew the op Ed was disingenuous and should lose to JD on both claims

2. J clearly held the power and was abusive, her claims are true and she should win both counts

I'm a solid 3 and I think the jury will give the win to J on both counts.

Which is why I think it should be allowed.

This may be a lot of panicking for nothing.
The only people who know what he is going to say is: him and JD team.
Everyone else, including us, are speculating about what he will say.

Kate Moss, Jennifer Howell etc, there has been a lot of speculation about what they will say, and people thinking they know what they will testify. But then they testifying and it seems like a "let down" because they didn't say what we thought they would.

So it could be, this guy is going to testify about something completely differently and it might be very quick.

Either way, it will be interesting.

It will be interesting to see what is permitted to be included in testimony - but just like the Aquaman spoilers - once it is out there, it is out there!

In this case, since I think it is central to whether or not Amber had a campaign to defame Johnny by selling recordings to TMZ. Amber was very careful when she testified to say that SHE had never given anything but that she had given things to her lawyers and basically didn't know what they did with them! It is kind of the opposite of the waldman statements in that it is likely the lawyers who acted, not Amber directly.

As someone else said, TMZ was able to own the copyright which means they got them from the original source - either directly or indirectly.

In the grand scheme - it is TMZ. I would think Johnny's team also leaked things, TMZ has a lot of sources. Assuming this source is an AH team person, it doesn't really give away any secrets.

Thing is, even if there were no accusations of abuse from either of them, what a shitty, horrible, mutually unsupportive "relationship" this seems to have been. Time was when it was the paps that photoed or filmed you looking crap and embarrassing and sold it to the press so the world could see you at your very worst, that was expected; it was their job. But your partner/spouse? And to think Katy Perry got the huff with RB. Smh.

No but it may prove perjury in more than one courtroom this discredit further AH. That's what it is mainly about and the intent to defame.
