I love seeing Depps lawyers antsy when they are cornered. They know they can't go against medical opinions so they are trying to confuse him to make him look less credible somehow

Bloody hell the finger photos are graphic but

I didn't look🤮I haven't got a strong enough stomach!

Miscfeminista · 23/05/2022 14:57

The finger was gruesome but honestly it wasn't HD so I managed it. It actually looks way worse than it is, I thought his nail was cut off too, the whole tip basically but it's a bit on the other side with nail intact

Miscfeminista · 23/05/2022 15:05

This psychiatrist is quite a presence. He looks like he just got up and the way he didn't see lawyer trying to sit on the bench lol I feel for him tho I have similar spatial awareness

ProclivityForPyrotechnics · 23/05/2022 15:08

@Miscfeminista yes! That was funny

ProclivityForPyrotechnics · 23/05/2022 15:18

He is aggressive

Miscfeminista · 23/05/2022 15:24

I would say he is just the right kind of person to pose a challenge to JDs team. He is awkwardly insistent on what he wants to say, he doesn't budge. I don't want to diagnose people but the only explanation for a person who studies behaviour for so long to act a bit too oblivious in some instances is what they used to call Aspergers-not knowing when to stop talking/interrupting, being too loud, appearing rude or too blunt, "clumsiness" etc. Doesn't change value of his opinons at all, just a bit funny to see everyone used to common decency struggling 😂

BonnesVacances · 23/05/2022 15:43

I think that the psychiatrist talking now could be a bit of an own goal for AH. Anyone on the jury who thinks that AH is abusive could easily apply all his observations to her and agree that JD himself was a victim of IPV.

Miscfeminista · 23/05/2022 15:46

I'm actually spooked out by what this dr just said. Basically if you used two things at the same time(like booze+coke)you could have mini brain strokes and not even realise which would in turn affect some of your cognitive functions(like when some people who recover from stroke struggle with speech, similarly maybe reason why Depp is so slow and confused when talking). This is scary for most of us who were binging and mixing as teens and younger adults 😣

I think what this dr is trying to say(at this part)is that given his long term and quite intense drug use, he was the one who lacked self control given how drugs fry your brain after some time and also someone who could not take accountabilty or even remember given problems with memory and blackouts

I agree.
I think I posted right on the tail end of thread 3 I would be interested in knowing if AH behaviour changed when mixing drugs/alcohol/prescribed meds. He is interesting to listen to but also he will be using up a lot of their time allowance.

With regard to the Orthopaedic specialist, how does that fit in with AH saying JD's finger tip was taken off by the phone? I missed some of it.

Aspiringmatriarch · 23/05/2022 16:10

I'm not quite watching live so a bit behind but the psychologist is fascinating, both in his mannerisms and the content of what he's saying.

Really sad to hear about the cognitive decline caused by JD's substance abuse, being unable to recall words a short time later etc. It is essentially brain damage, isn't it?

StormzyinaTCup · 23/05/2022 16:15

I'm liking this guy, he is interesting. He looks very comfortable there, I think he is settled in for the morningGrin.

BonnesVacances · 23/05/2022 16:18

So is his testimony that due to drug and alcohol abuse JD suffers memory lapses and doesn't remember punching and/or raping AH?

Aspiringmatriarch · 23/05/2022 16:20

She theorised that but I don't think she's ever claimed to have seen it happen. The Orthopaedic guy was a bit inconclusive really, he seemed to indicate it was more likely to have happened by the finger getting trapped in something and said the injury wasn't consistent with what Johnny had described happening. He didn't really get into Amber's theory and wasn't asked about it in cross-examination either. Maybe because she says she didn't witness it so it would be speculation anyway.

StormzyinaTCup · 23/05/2022 16:21

I think they need to bring in JDs ADHD on cross.

To summarise 'Don't do drugs kids'!!

Midlifemusings · 23/05/2022 16:22

BonnesVacances · 23/05/2022 10:11

What does a face that's been battered look like? Especially when the batterer is wearing rings?

Look at boxer's faces after being repeatedly punched in the face. There are also many pictures online of victims of domestic violence who have been violently attacked.

Maybe someday Amber will share her skin routine that allows her to be violently attacked and punched in the face with heavy rings, thrown and dragged across glass, kicked and thrown across rooms, and frequent violent attacks that leave pretty much no mark. There are so many people who would benefit from her knowledge and ability to be like a boxer in a ring taking round after round after round of punches and hits with heavy rings and to walk away without a mark. Maybe she will sell her secrets and make millions from it. She says she is a woman's advocate so why not let all the other women in on it so they don't have to deal with cuts and bruises and injuries when they are attacked.

willithappen · 23/05/2022 16:23

All this guy is doing is eating Ambers very limited time she already has, promoting his own book and coming across very unlikeable to the jury.
Lovely reviews about him online also 🙃

But didn't the surgeon in Australia say it was a 'velocity' injury and didn't believe is was shut in a concertina door as was told to him by JD.

BonnesVacances · 23/05/2022 16:18

I think so, essentially. People in a blackout don't form memories so that would be true whatever he was doing. Cognitive issues can obviously affect both behaviour and memory.

He said it was a crush injury due to the damage to the bone and there was one more part but I don't remember what it was.

Midlifemusings · 23/05/2022 16:29

Well that was not what AH's team would have wanted to hear. He said abusers don't seek out counsellong or help, they don't want anyone to know what is going on in the house...and Johnny basically had a live in team to counsel and help him.

StormzyinaTCup · 23/05/2022 16:39

There is an own goal coming up here!!

TiddyTidTwo · 23/05/2022 16:39

A lot applies to AH too, here.

Not sure this is helping her. Plus he's never even met JD.

Odd

BonnesVacances · 23/05/2022 16:40

Lol! He's literally describing AH when detailing what a narcissist is Grin Massive own goal! Are AH's team actually on her side?
