So, how many loads of washing DO you do in a week, MN??

Inspired by the poor MNer that is doing 4 loads a day... tell me your laundry schedule.

Mine is very straightforward:

2 children and a cloth nappy baby
1 load per day - put in before bed on an eco cycle and hung out the next morning before work.

If I am ill, drunk or forgetful, my schedule falls behind by 1 day and I give zero shits. "Because I do not exist to do your laundry."

If someone pisses the bed, I am willing to do an extra load. But I will be vocal about it.

Has anyone cut down from how much they were washing a year ago ?

Saracen · 19/04/2023 04:59

For three people:
Summer: about five a week.
Winter: about eight a week.

The seasonal difference is because DH gets filthy working outdoors. In winter he wears more layers and gets rained on more often.

No, but I had cut down a few years previously for environmental reasons. My top tip for that is that people can generally dry themselves with a smaller towel than they may be used to. We usually use a small hand towel after a bath/shower, and flannels in place of hand towels.

Family of four. Children are 1 and 2. I do two loads every other day so 6 loads a week.

3 or 4 a week on average.
