To think Prince William preaching about climate change is another example the monarchy should not exist

Is he having a laugh? His wife and him parade around in designer clothes costing thousands of pounds, live on multiple properties, fly around the world often in jets and he is telling US to do our bit?

I had a chat with DH earlier and we thought it would be a good idea for the queen to hand straight to William but now I'm not sure either and just wish the lot of them would go away and cease to exist as a royal family.

They're taking the piss - when will we no longer stand for a monarchy?

Well according to the media if Kate wears the same dress more than once she's 'recycling.' Therefore she must be a green role model!

😆

OMG12 · 10/05/2022 07:32

well that argument applies to just about every public figure. Tbh I think the royal family have a lot more going for them than many of the Celebs and politicians who practice the same level of hypocrisy

No the argument cannot he said for any public figure - other people are usually famous because of a talent.

The RF are ultimately a glorified version or the Kardashians.

Except not even the Kardashians live entirely off taxpayers.

RogueBorg · 10/05/2022 11:35

@AuxArmesCitoyens so true!

AuxArmesCitoyens · 11/05/2022 09:42

Prince Charles the ardent environmentalist just used a WHOLE-ASS SEPARATE CAR to drive a gold hat to work.

Seriously? 😂

Roussette · 11/05/2022 09:54

4 Rolls Royces drove that crown. 2 of them contained other guff, like the staff and a sword or whatever

here is footage

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:12

Well the crowns are hardly going to get there themselves. Does a bus go past the HoP so it could be left on a seat? Have Royals used busses unless as part of a photo-opportunity? People are so jealous. Saying next that the RF should fly scheduled without it being a photo opportunity.. How did they expect the RF to leave London when they tested positive for COVID without getting the blame for infecting other people on a National Express. Mean people are clearly holding the RF to a higher standard than everyone else. You all use your cars or borrow cars to move things, don't you? If you online shop, do you expect Waitrose to put the bags on a bus? It's obviously just the same thing.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:13

the British public love a good pageant. No, not the creepy ones with toddlers, the proper ones.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:14

And did they buy news crowns and gowns and Rolls Royces for the occasion? No, they recycled. The greenest Queen's Speech delivered, probably.

AuxArmesCitoyens · 11/05/2022 10:17

@Zilla1 I salute you 😂

AchatAVendre · 11/05/2022 10:17

Pegging themselves to the climate change agenda is just PR. Loads of celebrities do it. I'm quite cynical about their motives. Now if we were to see them cycling about like the Dutch or Danish royals, then it might be a bit more believable. Obviously they can't jump on the animal welfare bandwagon, and its not quite such good PR as a lot of people find it unconvincing at its extreme, but who can disagree with environmental concerns?

The British Royal Family are far worse behaved than the Kardashians. I hate to say it, but they make some of the Kardashians look positively regal. Whats the real difference between the two? Geographical origin and a few hundred years of history but otherwise just a highly organised family network using publicity and clever business planning to make a fortune and make themselves famous and "apart" from other people.

Roussette · 11/05/2022 10:17

Haha Zilla, I know you're a parody account so you've done well with that post!

I think the crown should have been transported securely beforehand, instead of parading it round the streets of London on a red velvet cushion.

It's all getting too much. If PC doesn't get a handle on the Monarchy and RF and all the trappings, there will be no RF anymore and they will just be objects of derision for a lot of the population (leaving aside the union jack tea towel getting up at 5am to catch a glimpse brigade)

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:20

@AuxArmesCitoyens and we all salute the Royal Family, exemplars of greenery. If we served in the Armed Services then we'd salute those Royals twice. Where would the army, navy and air force, customs and excise, coast guard? be without the RF to step up and occupy the empty roles as General, Admiral, Air Commodore and for them or their support corgis to be in charge of most regiments. Selfless. And useful in a war.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:26

@Roussette yes, the unpatriotic parodies should be held to account as you probably meant. The RF have so many roles that taxes would have to go up if they went on strike. The head-ness of state, the military roles, royal tours with the frock wearing, meeting and greeting, paying respects, taking part. The list is endless and respects aren't paid by themselves as everyone well knows. Plus the sidelines. Hasn't everyone tried coronation chicken? Wouldn't exist without the Queen. In years to come, people will look back and find life unimaginable without the side dishes and puddings that will be invented during this Jubilee. Have you begun experimenting with food ingredients yet?

Roussette · 11/05/2022 10:29

I do a mean coronation chicken Zilla, I can let you have the recipe if you want!

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:31

But if the crown was transported securely without being paraded, it would have ruined the pageant and disappointed everyone who lined the route. It's like those who wait for a black and white printed sign to be put outside when a baby is born. Make the waiting well-wisher's day, if not lifetime. A twitter announcement wouldn't be the same. It's why the Daily Mail prints a nice photo of the printed announcement of a birth. No one would expect a screenshot of a twitter announcement to have the same gravitas.

It's like Boris. You'll miss them when they've gone and much of the circumstances of their reign and departure will seem inconceivable. Or incroyable as you and @AuxArmesCitoyens might say judging by your user names.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:32

Please do. I read the original one and it seemed a little complicated but then every time I make it, it's like a small homage to their Royal Highnesses.

Roussette · 11/05/2022 10:39

This one is delicious, and the best by far. I don't do it as a homage to anyone lol, I just do it cos I like it! It's nice if people come round in the summer and you don't want to bbq.

It's got fresh mango in it. here

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 10:56

Thank you. I'll try to make it as a homage to you.

Roussette · 11/05/2022 11:01

I am beyond flattered Grin

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 11:02

Isn't it marvellous that everyone will show their support for the RF by taking a day's Bank Holiday. Every meal consumed that day will be a personal tribute to HRH. Reminds me of when everyone used to stand up in the cinema at the en when the National Anthem was played. Brings the country together. Without the RF the country would split apart. Lincolnshire would move closer to the Netherlands and their RF. Kent might drift down to Spain and their RF. The rest would just fragment and be disputatious like a drunken family bust up. No, not like Charles the day after the DoY interview with Maitland.

fatfrenchprick · 11/05/2022 11:06

They monarchy needs to be abolished.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 11:14

Abolished - only if a case of build back better? Bigger palaces. More Rolls Royces for the poor crowns. Legal immunity. Tours to Switzerland when the snow is good. Nelsonian eyes by the press about stories concerning what are clearly innocent friendships. The duty to fly away when there's a lockdown and someone tests positive. Many Royalists think the RF is perfect but I think you might have a point.

Zilla1 · 13/05/2022 14:39

Have just listened to HRHs taking time out of their busy day to talk about MH for 60s. I was speechless.
