...who would continue to do the job they do now if they received a tax-free, obligation-free two million pounds.

If you had that money in your bank (in whatever circumstances make it believable for you) do you quit your job, just reduce your hours, or carry on doing exactly what you're doing now work-wise.

So, you have 2 million, do you:

  1. Reduce your hours - you like your job but wouldn't do it all the time/as much as you do now to maintain an income
  2. Walk right out - you're literally only there to make a living
  3. You continue as you are - you love the work you do each day and enjoy every day of your life

3, I like what I do and as others have said, 2M would not be enough to offer me the lifestyle I want for the rest of my life.
Wouldn't even change that much - I like where I live, house is sufficient for our needs, not interested in fancy cars or designer purses.

Well one thing, would always fly business/first longhaul.

Me! I am the weirdo that would still do what I do now…. But it’s my company, so 😂

I would cut down to 2 days a week and use the rest of my time to start a small business or retrain.

At this point I’d just have the heating on and buy a really good solid shop without having to worry about the cost at the till!
To answer the question though, I’d cut my hours, homeschool my kids, buy a house in the area I currently live in, volunteer more as I’d love to give more of my time for free but just can’t afford that.

Buy some land in the area I currently live in and start a community housing project where we all help each raise our kids and grow our own food, build houses, etc, like the Amish but without all the rules and religion!

I don't have a job at the moment, so I'd stay at home with DS3 until he is probably 2.5, then put him in nursery and go to uni.

I would like to have a job - I want to do work that is useful, I want to have colleagues - but lack of education/experience is holding me back at the moment.
