AIBU? daughter has gone out for the day with Nan and grandad, I’m cleaning the kitchen and notice the plastic tub in the cupboard which had about 4 broken up Easter eggs (daughters eggs) is empty.
He then said ‘oh I ate them last night as I wanted chocolate, she’s got other ones in there’
Shes got about 2 other eggs and odd bits left.
shes going to be so upset when she finds out as it was her ‘special box’ of eggs
Anyway he has stormed out saying I’m being stupid and she’s got to learn to share. I think he’s a pig in both ways!!!

The hyperbole on here is ridiculous
I'm sat reading this thread as I eat some of the kids easter egg
I also take money out of their piggy bank if it's needed 🤷‍♂️ condemn me now 😂

Did you ask them if you could eat their treats and borrow their money (I'm assuming you're just borrowing it and intend on giving it back, right?) Are your kids allowed to help themselves to your cash without asking too? My Mum used to borrow my pocket money when she was short, but she had the respect to ask me first.

I don't take kids money, no

Would you be happy if they raided your purse and took your money then?

Nope I didn't ask them
And yes I paid every penny of it back (but it's another thing I've seen mentioned on here that a parent can't ever dip into the savings of a child which imo is ridiculous)

I guess I'll find out when they are teenagers as they are too young to do that right now

It’s really nasty and selfish to eat a whole load of your child’s chocolate, especially Easter eggs. Why give them the eggs if you’re just going to eat it all up?

”I wanted chocolate” is such a shitty reason

Maybe have a little sliver that they won’t notice but don’t eat it all up.

No one “needs” chocolate- he should have exercised some self restraint. You don’t want to teach a child “if you do not eat up all the chocolate straight away, someone will snatch it” or “your belongings aren’t safe in this house”

He’s a greedy selfish arse.

One or two little pieces isn’t the end of the world. Stuffing the lot in his face is just shitty behaviour.
