Blimey, I think it's so sad that some people think you can never truly trust anyone!

Sadly for some of us, life has taught us that you really can not.

@MintyMoocow I would live quite happily with being accused of stereotyping. I also only ask family members or friends to look after my children. They would also be women.

The only man I know who babysat for children when he was younger ended up in the same prison as Rolf Harris for 14 years!! There are stereotypes for a reason.

Nope. I was molested by a local teenage boy my family had known his whole life.

I'm so sorry @MattDamon Flowers

No way. To the PP who said sex is irrelevant, the statistics on sexual abusers say otherwise. They are overwhelmingly men.

ForcedOut123 · 01/05/2022 22:12

Nope.

Funkyslippers · 02/05/2022 08:52

Fr0thandBubble that was me. Of course they're overwhelmingly men, but it's still not a common thing overall, male or female

That would be really hard for me to say that to my sons without it sounding like I hated them and thought they were bad people compared to my daughter, wouldnt it.

I say much the same to my DS, now 20s. On one occasion almost exactly that, when he was moaning about how unfair it was that there was a recruitment policy designed to get more women into his male dominated workplace, which he believed disadvantaged him.
He knows I can love him and the other men in our lives, but still recognise their privilege. I've taught him, and he gets it.
