Grrrrr Prince Harry ...

FlipHesAnnoying · 27/04/2022 15:59

When will he stop criticising the UK (fair enough you left us (thanks!), but stop with the 'oh the USA is great and UK is crap etc...' It's annoying)

And .... Remember Harry - we are NOT ALL LOADED!!! Where are we supposed to get the money for all this therapy you think we should have? The NHS is at breaking point (have you noticed? What r you doing to help?) And we can't all afford private therapy Harry ... especially not 4 years worth!! 'my therapist spoke to your therapist..' is not a reality for most of us struggling to afford heating.

Out of touch much? Yes

Megan seems much nicer than Harry, she's a glamorous, intelligent and seems fun. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she ditched this middle aged grump.

UndertheCedartree · 27/04/2022 17:53

Yes, that is annoying. I came out of a psych hospital almost 2 years ago. I was hospitalised for 3 years. The hospital team wanted me to start therapy in the community as soon as I was discharged. I'm still waiting. Stiff upper lip? He sounds like he hasn't a clue about ordinary people.

StoneofDestiny · 27/04/2022 17:20

in reality he is a highly entitled, arrogant, self absorbed man who has below average intelligence levels. As in he’s really a bit thick

sounds just like Philip, Charles, Andrew and Edward

Don't know about the rest but Prince Philip wasn't thick, I had a tour of Britannia (Dartmouth) Naval College (long story but lovely place) I was told Prince Philip was an outstanding student and came top or close to top in all his exams and graduated as top cadet.

Regarding therapy, a lot of psychs believe that the 'psychologization' of society has been an absolute disaster . People are constantly using terms without having a clue what they mean. They feel that their profession needs an overhaul as it is not working effectively and possibly needs to be combined with other disciplines and given a new identity and marketing pitch altogether. It doesn't get many people very far so how can it be considered a success. It is not even ancient subject so there would be nothing controversial about encouraging it to evolve. Wealthy Californians have been both it's greatest cheerleaders as well as it's most visible casualties. It would be hardest for them to really assess it's success in a balanced way since there are now two generations that have been in therapy for their entire lives. Harry thinks he is being cutting edge and creating a positive image but he is actually touting something that is increasingly irrelevant and evidently hasn't turned him into a model of a psychologically healed male.

If he's so deliriously happy why is endlessly slagging off the UK, his family and his former life?
Wouldn't he just crack on and live his amazing life, juggling, feeding rescue chickens or whatever he does to fill his time?
And if he knows so much about therapy then why didn't he access some for his wife when she was having suicidal thoughts? Because he said he didn't know how to and yet he was already seeing a therapist then.

I did find that so strange. If you're that rich of course you can get a therapist whenever you want.

@IcedPurple, Medicaid covers mental health services in most states. In California, currently run by a Democratic governor, there is no reason to believe people relying on Medicaid have an experience any different from the experience of a friend of mine in Illinois, who sees a psychiatrist regularly, receives free medications to control her condition, and sees her therapist once a week through her family practice doctor's group practice, all at no cost to her. She was hospitalised two years ago, again at no cost.

Can everyone get Medicaid or do you have to qualify in some way?

UndertheCedartree · 27/04/2022 18:01

Spottyphonecase24 · 27/04/2022 16:43

He is out of touch with reality due to his position and wealth. But is it not a good thing that it’s starts the conversations about mental health and there is no embarrassment about going to therapy, especially for males?

The is a mental health crisis in th U.K. at the moment and due to funding people are not getting the help we need. Surely it should be the government we are angry with not Harry because he mentions it?

But he seems to be saying people in the UK don't seek out therapy. Not that lots of people want therapy but are struggling to access it on the NHS due to funding cuts. Unless I've misunderstood?

SirenSays · 27/04/2022 18:07

I'll be honest I stopped paying attention to any news about him when they left. Now I often forget he even exists.

That doesnt help.

Plus he has lost his way.
Kate helps stabilise William. Meghan falls out with many people.

Peace is a valuable commodity.

He's a self-absorbed, out of touch idiot who'd sell his granny for a yard of knicker elastic. Everyone knows it. Some won't admit it.

This is why I love this country. US native here. I left California to live here for a)the gorgeous climate- love a bit o' cloud cover, me and b) to read and hear things like who'd sell his granny for a yard of knicker elastic. 😂
Beautiful! I love it!

So disappointing that he turned into a massive tosser. I wish they would both just go and live their lives privately as they supposedly wanted to.

It’s endless cringe whenever he opens his mouth and endless woke, and rather dim, drivel emerges.

This. I really hoped they would go and live a quiet life supporting local good causes and have a nice life. If they had done that, they would be at far less risk of being....whatever it is they are afraid of.

I'm sure it would be better for the MH of the pair of them if they became cycling locals with chickens and overdue library books like the rest of us.

eddiemairswife · 27/04/2022 18:12

People seem to talk about him as if he is a troubled teenager. He is a man approaching 40.

Soffit · 27/04/2022 18:16

I think that the core of her frustrations with the UK was the fact that she never really understood the difference in status between the heir and the spare and could not stand for being part of the supporting cast. She set up in Santa Barbara using wealth generated by our aristocratic system to carve out a leading role in a bigger place. The massively overuses her Duchess of Sussex title for somebody who loathes the whole institution. She is a massive hypocrite.

How do we organise that? I’m onboard. 😁

Ask Vlad... no seriously, can people just stop feeding the royal machine. The RF is history, there is no future in this colonial monstrosity. Let the DM and the BBC publish their trashy articles to zero clicks. Let it die.

ItsDisneyBitch · 27/04/2022 18:20

whenever i see Harry these days I’m reminded of the old modern toss comics about Prince Edward.

Grrrrr Prince Harry ...

Can everyone get Medicaid or do you have to qualify in some way?

You must be below a certain income. It varies state to state which is one of the few flaws in the program. All services must be covered as well as all medicines. Some states waive the income for children with specific conditions including things like Down Syndrome and ASD. Basically Medicaid will pay for whatever the families private insurance does't.

daisychain01 · 27/04/2022 18:25

At the risk of sounding patronising, as I'm sure you know this already OP, PH isn't aiming his criticisms at you personally, so it would be more healthy to adjust your response to his over-privileged out-of-touchness so it doesn't wind you up.

YANBU to be frustrated though Flowers it must be hellish frustrating listening to him wanging on about MH and therapy that he can get on-tap any time he likes. Yes, PH we know, you don't have to keep on rubbing it in, mate.

felizdia · 27/04/2022 18:27

I am a royalist through and through and love our monarchy BUT, he turned his back on the UK and wants to be 'Just Harry' so why does he keep using titles that are no longer his and why is SHE introducing him as 'my husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex' when all they do is criticise the monarchy...hypocrisy at the highest level! Soz rant over!

Out of touch much? Yes

I'd need therapy too if millions of strangers hated me and my family so much.

Of course he's out of touch, he's royal, it's what they do. But at least he had the gumption to carve out his own path and leave the dysfunctional relics in the dust.

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 27/04/2022 18:28

He's just feeding into the historical America vs Britain mentality. He's giving the US media what they want, although from my sibling who lives in America, everyone she knows over there are tired of the sussexes too.

PrettyGirlsMakeGravy · 27/04/2022 18:31

And what do you suggest he does to help the NHS, op? He doesn't even live in the UK.

If he could persuade granny to sell a few castles and donate the proceeds to building a new hospital, I suppose that'd be a start. But Queenie and co do love to sit on their golden thrones and look down on us plebs, so I won't hold my breath.

If only that would work.

We have endless yards of Jubilee coverage to avoid this year. That will become difficult.

I do have a daydream that William accedes the throne and just abolishes the whole fandango. That would be the quickest and easiest way.

There seems to be growing realisation that the Commonwealth thing is embarrassing so maybe we’re slowly getting there.

Applesonthelawn · 27/04/2022 18:35

He's a moron but try to let it wash over you OP. He will reap what he sows in life I'm sure, and it's really not looking good for him in spite of the apparent trappings of wealth. Just sit back and let it all happen.

givethatbabyaname · 27/04/2022 18:39

He’s like loads of people who’ve had therapy and “seen the light”. Evangelical and utterly convinced that they have the answers to the questions we must all be asking 🙄
