I don't care what shade your politics are, you should be disgusted by the Daily Fail article claiming that Angela Raynor 'distracts' Boris Johnson by crossing her legs because her debating skills aren't as good as his.

I'm so glad we will all be able to call ourselves women when the tories screw us, our children and just about everyone else irreparably for generations to the point of causing actual deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. I'm happy that we will be able to say 'women' have had their rights dismantled when our right to protest or express our views is completely removed. My family will keep warm and feed ourselves with dictionaries.

Anyway, the fact that Boris has said something suggests to me he knows it's meant to be an attack on him.

So why are we blaming the tories ? How do we know that this is just not a “ made up “ article by the Daily Fail ?

they can say what they want without proving a source .

Why would the very Tory Mail make up a story that shows Tories in such a bad light?

Sadly we will at least know we have a problem. Under other parties disparities will grow because no-one will know it. The best way to screw people over is to hide it and that is why saying that men are women is so dangerous.

To you and others who think like you.

Not everyone is a single issue voter.

And I haven't said anyone else is?
I am aware people have different opinions.

But I won't pretend that it's ok if women loose their right to define themselves, hence why I said what I did, I am allowed an opinion like the next person.

Thatswhyimacat · 24/04/2022 14:59

@Whatiswrongwithmyknee but when you know something is wrong what are you going to do about it? This government has removed any methods of holding them to account.

Thatswhyimacat · 24/04/2022 15:04

By which I mean any method of holding them to account except voting them out...which you won't do. So if they know they have your vote based on what they say about women rather than what they do, why would they do anything? How is that not a scenario where things get vastly worse for women?

No one said you weren't allowed an opinion

You said "we most definitely cannot lose". I just pointed out that not all women agree with you.

Bodher · 24/04/2022 15:07

Whether I am disgusted or not is my opinion so thanks OP for telling me I SHOULD BE DISGUSTED

Because we can't loose our rights??
Stop policing my posts.
Just because you don't agree.

PupInAPram · 24/04/2022 15:11

@Bodher then what do you think of it?

ilovesooty · 24/04/2022 15:14

"Stop policing my posts" 🤣

You could try to stop being ridiculous.

I've made my point. I don't think I'll bother to continue engaging with you.

Clearly a lot of work would be needed and it would be an uphill struggle. But what are you going to do about it when we no longer know who is being thrown under the bus, denied opportunities in work, abused more, dies more in hospitals, is paid less, is not sitting on panels, not getting senior roles, doing more childcare etc. etc.?

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 24/04/2022 15:17

I would also hold out hope for a future opposition which is not led by a male supremacist.

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 24/04/2022 15:18

If they actually hear the country saying 'no' to their re-packaged misogyny.

Tanith · 24/04/2022 15:29

Mmmm! Remind me who has been in power for the last 13 years while gender politics has flourished...

Clue: it's not Labour.

How am I being ridiculous by saying that women can't loose their rights? Strange.

I don't know why you 'engaged' with me in the first place to be honest. 🤦🏼‍♀️
But Nevermind.

Tanith · 24/04/2022 15:31

Anyway, we've moved a bit from the subject of the post.

Yes, it's a disgraceful article. Can't we tell that Paul Dacre is back?!!

balalake · 24/04/2022 15:33

Agree OP that it is a disgusting article.

As for Mr Johnson's debating skills, I'd ask what debating skills given his performances at PMQs.

I totally agree, I used to be a Labour supporter myself but this is a worldwide issue at the moment.
America is having real issues, as is Australia.
Sajid Javid looks to be making positive steps as does Nadine Dorries.

Exactly. That seems to have escaped those pushing the self ID issue though.

Since the article is much more damaging to Johnson than anyone else I'd love to know which of his potential leadership rivals is behind it.

Tanith · 24/04/2022 15:45

I also find it odd that there's such upset over the Daily Mail article, but no-one seems all that bothered about the Guardian/Sunday Times articles:

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/three-cabinet-ministers-face-sexual-misconduct-claims-c8t58nhxx

56 MPs! 70 separate complaints of sexual misconduct!

Nomorefuckstogive · 24/04/2022 15:47

Hideous, demeaning and the typical brainless crap peddled by the Fail. Why do people still read it? Why oh why? Old-fashioned and disgustingly misogynistic. Depressing.

GreenLunchBox · 24/04/2022 16:04

Bozo and Dorries tweeted the exact same message about the article. Their way of telling Angela (and us) that they couldn't give a shiny shit about it
