TV on the wall

To make more space in our living room I want to put our TV on the wall above our fireplace (Victorian style house with tallish fireplace/wall height).

DH hates the idea as he think we'll be 'looking up' and a TV should be eye height when we're sitting on the sofa. I just don't think it's an issue if it's slightly higher.

AIBU to want to do this?

I think that’s a fairly common reason people don’t like them on walls; a PP mentioned the “Wetherspoons” look.

Is the opinion common as in widely held or common as in held by people of a lesser class?

@Furries I think I remember, was it you who started the original thread back then? I replied under a previous name. Would be great to see it once you’ve got it looking tidy!

It wasn’t me who started the thread. I got my tv a couple of weeks ago. I was originally looking at the Samsung Frame tv - I just did a search on here for frame tv’s and that was one of the threads that came up. Would never have known about mirror tv’s if I hadn’t seen your post. I’d never normally spend that, but had a small windfall and most of my money seems to go on repairing the house, so it was nice to spend it on a “want” rather than a need!

@Furries thats exactly how we ended up with one; had a small amount of money left after buying and doing up the house, and decided to spend on a small luxury rather than a sensible purchase as we normally do. We still love it! It’s good to treat yourself occasionally if you can.

I think they look hideous on the wall.
