How much do you spend on your weekly shop?

I am just wondering if what I spend a week on my shop is average?

£160/£200 per week for food, drinks, alcohol, dog treats and usual house stuff like cleaning products and toiletries for 2 adults and 1 child.

I shop at Tesco and don't do top up shops etc.

The reason why I am asking is, my friend thinks this is a really high amount. But they shop in different shops eg Asda/Aldi plus do top up shops. So when I pointed out she must be spending more than me, adding in petrol etc to get to different shops, plus more time going to different places. She was adamant she wasn't. I get home delivery.

Thanks very much wise ones

Yes I spend at least that much. I live in a high COL area. Full time our house is my husband, daughter and I, but we provide food for our nanny (she usually wants bagels, juice, specialty coffee and creamer and some frozen meals) three days a week, my mom is here one day a week and has a specialty diet, we host quite a bit and my husband's parents are up every other week. It's an absurd amount to spend on groceries, I cook a lot from scratch and we never waste food! Idk what to do about it.

Around £250 a week./ £1000 a month. Main shop around £150 plus a £50 top-up. Then weekly veg box, milk delivery, plus local butcher's. Plus £5 a day school lunches.

Currently £90-£100 for 2 adults, 1 baby (8 months) and a dog. We probably top up £10-20 as well. It makes me feel a bit sick thinking about how much prices have increased, we used to struggle to spend £50 last year and pre baby.

It does look on the high side of normal but if you’re buying quality fresh meat, fruit and veg, some expensive wines etc that explains why.
The supermarkets regularly do buy 6 bottles of wine, get 25% off. Bulk buy 6 or 12 bottles and that saves you £2.50 off each bottle of £10 wine, so £5 a week. Try some of the high end own brand wines- the Sainsburys TTD wines are generally really good, and beat some brands on price & quality. Always look for offers, discounts and check the yellow stickers.
I’ve started moving over to own brands for cereals/washing liquid etc. We’ve always used own brand nappies rather than Pampers or Huggies. It can be 3-5 times cheaper to use own brand over branded goods.

£180ish for 2 adults and 3 sporty young adults (2 of which are men of over 6'2").
Shop at Aldi, local butcher, Home Bargains.
Occasional waitrose for unusual ingredients.
All food from scratch so quite high fuel/ cooking costs.

£50 for 2 adults and 1 teen. It used to be £30. We're usually v careful due to necessity. I meal plan, cook from scratch and batch cook and freeze stuff. Most of our house are veggie or veggie based.
Could easily spend £100 though once dh starts with the steak and sea bass etc!

I spend £165 a week for two people at home 24/7 (DH is housebound and I am his carer) plus two dogs. DH and I eat three meals a day at home, the dogs have two.

The money I spend covers absolutely everything - food, cleaning stuff, loo rolls etc and there are no top up shops at all. Mainly because I can't get to any shops but it does sharpen the mind when it comes to the shopping list.

2 adults - 3 children - 2 cats and a dog - we spend between £140 - £165 per week at Asda, this does include wine, food for the animals and plenty of meat, cleaning products. No breakfast cereals at all, we mainly do meat and eggs for breakfast, hot lunches (we home educate) no takeaways and I cook from scratch. We do meal plan.
