The Queen has coped for most of her life without you. I don't think she needs you 'protecting her' now.

I'm usually entire ambivalent to the royals but this has really bruised my cherry!

It's true I don't know the royal family but I do have brothers and one is definitely the type who pops in for 5 minutes every few years out of their everyday life (somewhere far far away where the cameras, phones and post don't appear to work) and sticks his oh so very important oar in.
I was reminded of this watching yesterday's BBC news covering this story.
(I wish I'd not seen it but was caught unawares and somewhat immobile atm I couldn't run out of the room!)

Harry could call his grandmother every day for all we know.

Soffit · 21/04/2022 10:26

I think that their public speeches on this occasion are quite revealing in hinting at a codependency and a potentially shared oppositional defiance. It has been 'Service' this, 'Service' that all week. The queen's singular, short statement several years ago is still bothering them to a great extent and they are pretty much united in their wish to use the royal platform and opportunities to carry on chipping away at it's facade.

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 10:26

I did put the details of my own family in the brackets.
The occasional oar sticking analogy was the triggering bit for my mental health.

Soffit · 21/04/2022 10:28

Meghan ought to apply to trademark the term "Service" because she obviously spends a lot of time contemplating it's 'ownership'.

But you don’t know Harry is anything like your brother. Harry could be regularly in contact with the Queen. It’s only on here that people are saying he isn’t and has them swooped in for 5 minutes to tell everyone what to do. It’s all made up because they don’t know.

They have to turn it back on themselves all the time because they have these Netflix deals to do and make and more money to make. living where they do must be eye watering expensive and security costs alone must break the bank ; they are now in celebrity league with people around them far richer they are. They know they have to stay relevant in order to keep it rolling in and honor their contracts.
It must be a huge pressure to be honest : one they have made themselves I know this, but Harry hasn't any other talents to fall back on to make even more millions needed to stay living there, so having a film crew following him is the trade off.
It's not a settled future for him really despite their current wealth, it's still peanuts really compared to the likes of Oprah or the Clooney's and they know this!

I think that's probably the nearest to the truth.

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 10:31

That's the thing about triggers Vegan.
And archetypes.

x2boys · 21/04/2022 10:31

You could have closer your eyes and put your hands over your ears!
Nobody knows the ins and outs of the royal family,s private family buissness, and neither can we compare the actions of our own family members,to that of Harry
As none of us know then or truely know how his family feel about him .

Chilledchablis1 · 21/04/2022 10:32

I do think it’s sad that the Invictus Games have been totally overshadowed by the H and M show. Such a worthwhile cause . I wonder how the veterans feel ?

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 10:32

The news told me he had a quick visit the first in a long time and expressed concerns about protecting his grandmother.
Tbh I've not read the thread.

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 10:33

X2boys I know, I know.
It's like the car crash thing. I'm not happy with myself. Tsk tsk.

TheKeatingFive · 21/04/2022 10:34

And so do you thekeating why do you keep posting if you want everyone to stop talking about them?

i don't care one way or the other. I'm just pointing out the own goals being achieved by others.

Probably pushed by the H&M team

what are you saying, I'm a bot? 😂

check out my posting history and you'll see how absurd that is.

x2boys · 20/04/2022 11:38

So ambivalent that you started yet another we hate Harry and Meghan thread ?
Wether you like it or not he is her Grandson,it's not out of the ordinary,he might want to protect his 96 year old frail Grandmother.

He isn't protecting her- he lives thousands of miles away and has not seen her privately for over two years. She is the most protected woman in England with a daughter and three sons she sees often and a family that live on her land. She has the most trusted, skilled staff and carers. The people she needs protection from are him and his wife and her second son who between them have done more to damage her peace of mind and stability than anyone.

Swayingpalmtrees · 21/04/2022 10:34

The one thing I find just so striking and odd is the fact they named their child after Harry's so called beloved mother's childhood pet name, and yet said child will soon be nearly one years old and is STILL yet to even meet her own Grandmother that she is named after, and may never do so.

Unless you are naming your kid so they can get some cash kick backs for the link and connection later in life then this to me seems unimaginably cruel and disordered. It is very shallow and almost disturbing, and potentially very embarrassing for the little girl later in life when the questions will roll.

The very first person Lilibet should have met beyond her parents surely would be the person she is named after.....it is utterly baffling and smacks more of psychological games than family love and legacy.

Soffit · 21/04/2022 10:35

At one point, Harry kneeled down and told a young child that he should not 'let them take your future away from you'. On what planet is that an appropriate comment to make to a child you have never met before. It was really Harry articulating his feelings about his liberation from the Royal prison in which the poor lifelong inmates have no idea about real life and no futures of their own. That is why the Queen, that veteran inpatient, needs protecting, perhaps. This persecution complex is very prevalent among woke cry bullies. It is always, always about breaking free from oppression, never anything more multi-layered or complex.

Swayingpalmtrees · 21/04/2022 10:36

**beloved Grandmother

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 10:36

Logging out right now to do my physio! And I will try to forget irritating male relations who both ignore and patronise their older women relations.

What I see on here a lot is the silencing of opinion.

Probably pushed by the H&M team to stop too much scrutiny of their behaviour, the same reason they keep taking people to court. They don't want a magnifying glass on their lies and stories, they would prefer it if we all shut up and let them get on with their shady money spinning deals and the gas lighting of each of their families.

Sorry but no. We will keep calling them out for as long as they carry on with their hypocrisy and self serving publicity stunts.

It's a public forum, that's what happens in a public forum you get people that don't agree with you and think your opinion is slightly ridiculous,

Well they live thousands of miles away and we have been in a pandemic for two years so🤷

Swayingpalmtrees · 21/04/2022 10:40

I could not care any less what you think about my opinion x2 really I don't. And if we did a poll today I am sure you would most definitely be in the minority

The staggering thing how early it starts and how inappropriate the advice can be.

Swayingpalmtrees · 21/04/2022 10:41

And Harry has been here many times for two years...so....he could have brought his children with him at any time but chose not to.

It is ridiculous to name a child after a family member they have never met, and at this rate very unlikely to ever do so.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/04/2022 10:43

We have this with relatives living abroad-refuse to accept the reality that we have been dumped with looking after aging parents; one with dementia-which they refuse to believe us as advanced as it is. It’s their way of absolving themselves of the guilt and making themselves feel better about the decisions they’ve made.

Blossomtoes · 21/04/2022 10:50

VeganGod · 21/04/2022 08:53

They said they wanted to be financially independent and that the British press was an issue and affecting mental health. So they moved away but never said they would be silent. I think people have misunderstood, deliberately.

Yes, they said the British press was an issue, so why do they keep pouring petrol on the fire? If they shut the fuck up there would be nothing for the British press to report.
