To think that poor Ronnie Hinch deserves some privacy

And the details of his life and e.g. speech delay not broadcast to his mothers 4.4 million followers (and whoever else wants to see as it's an open page)

Imagine having your life broadcast like that in such detail with no consent or consideration of his future Sad

OP posts:
Gastonia · 19/04/2022 08:45

I hadn't heard of Ronnie Hinch until this thread, but now I'm suspicious that the OP is the mother, trying to ramp up publicity Grin

Samesame89 · 19/04/2022 08:45

The only people more annoying than social media influencer types are people who spend their time boasting about how above it all they are.

toastofthetown · 19/04/2022 08:46

@Anniefrenchfry

This is in poor taste. His parents gets to make the decision, he’s just a normal lad, she doesn’t need to hide him away. Doesn’t matter if you agree or not with their decisions, it’s their decision to make. Don’t follow if you don’t like.
I don’t think anyone is suggesting the child is hidden away because of a speech delay. I don’t like parents broadcasting their children to an audience before the children are old enough to make an informed decision for themselves that its that’s something they want for their life. I don’t follow her and I wasn’t aware of her son’s speech delay, but I don’t think this is ‘don’t follow if you don’t like it’ territory. That works if you find her annoying or don’t like her decor. This is a child welfare issue and that’s something which everyone gets an opinion on.
ssd · 19/04/2022 08:46

Its great to be blissfully ignorant of all this shite.

SirChenjins · 19/04/2022 08:48

I presume this is the son of Mrs Hinch, she of the cleaning fame?

Hasn't she made her money by now, without needing to boost her bank balance by selling her children's privacy?

ENoeuf · 19/04/2022 08:48

@FishFingerSandwiches4Tea yes sounds like the same child

Lochroy · 19/04/2022 08:49

The thing is, the level of influence these influencers have is ridiculous and for many brands they're a hugely powerful media platform.

But simply because of the number of followers they have.

If they didn't have the followers, they wouldn't get paid and they'd have to find different work.

But they do, and now they have to keep generating 'news' to remain relevant.

Phos · 19/04/2022 08:49

@Yellownightmare

If you know who Ronnie Hinch is then you're part of the problem.
Not necessarily. I know who Mrs Hinch is so in the context its easy to surmise.

Though admittedly until 5 minutes ago I didn't know she had a kid, I thought she just did cleaning hacks and stuff.

Kendodd · 19/04/2022 08:49

Plastering your kids lives all over the internet is wrong for anyone to do imo. The kids don't consent to this. I feel sorry for the Cambridge kids growing up in the pubic eye.

Yellownightmare · 19/04/2022 08:50

I'm guessing from this thread that he's that cleaning woman's son. I don't follow her or ever look at anything she posts because I have no interest in her. I only know her name because she's talked about on here.
Knowing (guessing) that this thread is about her son doesn't make me part of the problem thank you.

Then you're not who I was addressing. It was obvious that my remark was addressed at people who follow this woman and therefore are part of publicising her 'brand', not people who could guess it was about her son, which incidentally I could after a couple of posts. But if you want to make it about you, then fine.

Simonjt · 19/04/2022 08:51

I think some parents forget that children are actually people. I run an adoption based instagram, I’m very careful what goes on there, it is generally advice, experience, resources etc. we sometimes have guest posters, I do have to be careful about those. We had one recently I had to edit as they were talking about their child (no name or photo) but they were also talking about withholding, which I didn’t think anyone needed to know about, so I removed that.

Hertsgirl10 · 19/04/2022 08:51

😂😂😂

Was she not doing just that and everyone called her out saying that she’s ashamed her child isn't insta perfect?

She kept it private for ages and was basically made out to be the devil.

People just love to hate her, she can’t win what ever she does.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 19/04/2022 08:53

@JudgeRindersMinder
I’ve just had a look at her Instagram for the first time in a long time and she’s “styled a shelf”. What the actual fuck

How do you "style a shelf"? I just bung stuff on it --and pray the fucker doesn't fall off the wall. 🤷‍♀️

No idea who this Ronnie person is, but from reading this thread I'm going to guess it's a kid with some challenges...including his mother it's that bloody stinky Zoflora woman, isn't it?

IntricateRhyme · 19/04/2022 08:53

My concern about these so called influencers using their children to increase their viewing figures is the potential for abuse and bullying in the school place, especially the ones reaching Secondary School age.

There will come a point when the children say no to being on camera. Just hope it won't be too late by then.

awonderfuladventure · 19/04/2022 08:55

It reminds me of the Truman Show. The kids have a right to privacy, and should not be subject to having their private life plastered all over social media.

Momijin · 19/04/2022 08:57

I don't follow her but being an influencer is a legitimate job and hard work. It takes skill and time.

And a high profile person with presumably many mums as followers may appreciate her being candid about her struggles. It helps people realise that they're not alone and regardless of how perfect someone's life may seem, we all have struggles.

I used to get really frustrated at people moaning about Katie Hopkins online as that is what fed her. If you don't want to see stuff and you don't want to give it publicity, don't engage.

IDontDrinkTea · 19/04/2022 08:58

@Yellownightmare

If you know who Ronnie Hinch is then you're part of the problem.
Partly yes, but partly it’s the fault of the parents that put his face, and every other part of his life online.

I saw them out and about once and I recognised Ronnie before I recognised her. Part of this was because she filters herself so much online she looks like a completely different person in reality, but part of it is how much she uses her children to sell her brand. The fact I knew instantly who he was freaked me out enough to unfollow. Children who can’t consent shouldn’t have that level of recognisability

GoFishandChips · 19/04/2022 08:58

I agree that this thread will probably be deleted as MN seems to dislike people making valid criticisms of influencers or bloggers. You’ll probably be counted among the ‘vile trolls’ the media likes to talk about for even questioning her parenting.

This is the thing I don't get either, if female actors and singers made the parenting choices some of these influencers do they would get hauled across the coals, look at how Britney Spears was treated, but the media refuses to criticise Influencers, is it due to the advertising factor, that media and influencers both need advertising to survive so no one wants to criticise the other? It's all one big circle j*rk?

EmeraldSpo · 19/04/2022 08:59

thefeebsfeed posted about five photos of her daughter laying in bed with a fever and a sick bowl last week. Another one with no respect for her kids privacy. For what it's worth though, there are Influencer gossip sites out there where you'll find more people who share this opinion

thebear1 · 19/04/2022 08:59

The use of children on social media is problematic and needs to be regulated. I wonder how these children will view their parents as they become teens and then adults.

Clymene · 19/04/2022 09:00

This is how she makes her living. Everyone who follows her or any of the other influencers contributes to them having to find new avenues to keep up the interest and engagement.

If you don't want to contribute to children being exploited, turn off Instagram.

AChocolateOrangeaday · 19/04/2022 09:00

They may as well shove their kids up a chimney and be done.

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 19/04/2022 09:01

I have no idea who you're talking about. If you truly think they deserve privacy don't start an AIBU thread that's going to cause people to search for them. exactly, especially with said child's name as the title! 🤣🤣 .... just going to Google to see who this Hinch kids is ....

Buggersticks · 19/04/2022 09:02

Thankfully, I haven't got a clue who these people are.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 19/04/2022 09:05

The woman has a fully furnished (for a human), decorated bedroom for her dog

It's batshit.
