I hate it. I hate it when people refer to themselves as their pet's mummy, too. I hate the rainbow bridge bollocks with a passion.
I do however, love my pets and have been devastated when they've died. But I respect them as animals. They're not babies and I hate the infantilisation of pets that become rife over recent years.
I am also at the threads titled “my darling little boy died in my arms today” which sound like bereaved parents but turn out to be somebody whose ageing fish or hamster has snuffed it.
Those posts really bother me when they appear in active. It takes time to notice that they come from the pets branch, and by then my stomach has done a loop.
