What do you like to spend your fun money on?

Bags, beauty, travel, clothes, shoes, sport, home improvement or anything else?

I don't spend much on beauty but would love to have a monthly massage and nail appointment. Not fussed on brows or Botox.

I also place more value on travel after the last couple of years and intend to save more to enable a bit more travel.

Clothes, shoes and bags are bought but usually second hand.

On polo shirts that match my DH’s polo shirts

Pets, gig tickets, seeds.
The rest is saved for my DC to put towards house deposits.

TheOGCCL · 17/04/2022 19:10

Clothes and make up for me. It's a bit of an addiction really as it's all v superficial and I'm concerned about the environmental impact.

I read this just after you had posted it and thought Confused. But I’ve just seen your other thread and it makes sense now. Is he talking to you yet? 🤣

A mix of pensions, savings, DH can’t break the habit of takeaways so too many takeaways, and I do normally spend on clothes and perfume (but avoiding both atm as I’m heavily pregnant). We spend a lot on kids activities and clubs. Also monthly charity donations.

Nidan2Sandan · 17/04/2022 20:06

Stuff for the kids, like clothes and shoes.

I give myself a £20‐£25 a month book budget.

Otherwise its food, a takeaway now and again or a meal out.

We dont have much disposable tbh.

Holidays, nights out, meals out, wine, cafes, pedicures, the odd massage or facial. Don't buy too many clothes makeup or toiletries because I used to buy loads of them when I'd more disposable income and have stockpiles to do me for years!
Save some for house, car, presents etc.
Try to get the balance between saving and being sensible but also spending a good bit of what I have on fun stuff as life is too short IMO Wink

Profanisaurasrex · 17/04/2022 20:29

Very little disposable income, but mine goes on coffee out with friends a couple of times a month and treats for the kids.
DH spends his on playing footy and treating the kids.

Scarecrowrowboat · 17/04/2022 21:00

I don't have any but if I ever do e.g. birthday money from my mum I buy stuff for the kids.

melcalfe · 17/04/2022 21:06

@Invasionofthegutsnatchers

Pets, gym membership (which I use a lot), clothes, vodka, eating out, holidays
This would be my perfect set up.

('Would be' as I don't have pets and am pregnant so can't drink)

HulaTallulah · 17/04/2022 21:28

Paint and DIY stuff from Wickes. Plants from the local garden centre. I enjoy doing projects on my home when I'm not at work.

I do like make up but find it lasts ages so I don't need to buy much.

FrownedUpon · 17/04/2022 22:20

Savings & extra into pension
Holidays
Eating out
Books
Home & garden
Walking gear-clothes, boots etc.

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 18/04/2022 09:12

Clothes, travel, art supplies, sports stuff, meals out, gadgets and have developed a bit of an addiction to Korean skincare products
