With Boris the lamest of lame ducks with not much longer until he is toast and Rishi "don't tax me" Sunak seemingly out of the running AIBU to think that the path is clear for Michael Gove to become the countries saviour and best ever Prime Minister?

@KeyErro

I dunno, did he have the rat-like cunning common sense to not actually break the law by attending a fucking party during lockdown? I don't care for the man but he seems competent and hard-working. It'd be nice to have a grown-up in charge.
No one invited him
Leggingslife · 12/04/2022 18:11

No.

Viviennemary · 12/04/2022 18:11

Not Gove. Couldnt't stand it.

vodkaredbullgirl · 12/04/2022 18:12
Confused
ChiswickFlo · 12/04/2022 18:12

He is a startled turbot

Lansonmaid · 12/04/2022 18:14

@ChiswickFlo

He is a startled turbot
This made me snort with laughter. Superb description!
ChiswickFlo · 12/04/2022 18:15

I rather love the description of Jacob rees mogg as a haunted pencil ✏️ 🤣

Awalkintime · 12/04/2022 18:19

I would rather lick piss of a thistle than see this man in power as PM. Fucking hell we are ruined if he gets in.

TizerorFizz · 12/04/2022 18:20

Just look at all those Conservative seats in Parliament. The public sector does vote Tory!

Gove? No.

The unfortunate thing is that Sunak is bright. Just not politically savvy. I prefer bright people in government. We mostly have a mediocre crew at the moment. That’s not surprising but it leads to poor governance. As we are finding out to our cost.

TizerorFizz · 12/04/2022 18:21

From what I hear, Gove was a decent Justice Secretary. Just got shuffled so didn’t see things through.

SenoraMiasma · 12/04/2022 18:23

We need Rory Stewart back.

ShowOfHands · 12/04/2022 18:23

Is that a horror story in one sentence you're attempting? A valiant effort but I believe there's a line and you're so far past it as to create revulsion in the most ardent horror fan. Maybe tone it down a bit.

Charming turn of phrase 🤨

But you're not wrong!!

spudjulia · 12/04/2022 18:27

Fucking hell. There's not a single one I'd want as PM. They are all a joke.

Can we vote for someone who isn't a politician? Or outsource to another country - like how some schools have superheads who manage a few different schools? Get someone who is doing well in another country to lead ours too?

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 12/04/2022 18:28

This is a joke, yes?

Keithlovessmash · 12/04/2022 18:29

No fucking way, he was all for banning home education.

rubbishatballet · 12/04/2022 18:29

My old CEO at an environmental ALB really rated him when he was at Defra. Most definitely not a Tory voter but found him incredibly bright and also straightforward to work with, compared to pretty much any other SoS he'd known

germsandcoffee · 12/04/2022 18:30

Nooo !
He made a hash of education I wouldn't want him as pm

VickyEadieofThigh · 12/04/2022 18:31

Oily heap of shite. Is there NOBODY else at all? There are hundreds of Tory MUSLIMS.

Pumperthepumper · 12/04/2022 18:31

I don’t care who takes over. I’d take any of of them - if only to draw a line under exactly how much corruption a PM can get away with. This endless stream of lies will just roll on and on otherwise. Give us Gove and we’ll watch him fuck it up too. Pick them off one by one.

SpinningMeSoftly · 12/04/2022 18:32

No thank you.

How many male mid-life crises must we be subject to?

AdoptedBumpkin · 12/04/2022 18:34

He would take us to a new low.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 12/04/2022 18:34

We’ve had Brexit, a pandemic and a war - have we not suffered enough without Pob for Prime Minister?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 12/04/2022 18:35

Well yes but only if it was a straight choice between him, Nadine Dorries or Pritti Patel.

ddl1 · 12/04/2022 18:36

Euurrrgggghhhh, no!

The best of an extremely bad bunch is probably Jeremy Rhyming--Slang - and if someone had told me in 2015 that I'd end up saying that, I'd have thought they were seriously nuts!
