To be disgusted by brooklyn Beckham wedding

I know alot of it is probably exajerated by media but to splosh out that much on a completely ott wedding seems quite revolting to me when millions all over the world are dying and how that money could have been spent on helping starving dying children, housing homeless people and helping refugees fleeing from war torture disaster and god knows what. And while I'm having a moan flogging just 1 painting of the royal family could probably solve alot of problems and it makes me sick how they preach to everyone about everything whilst sitting on fortunes t they don't need want and probably don't even like or notice anymore. Anyway that's what I think.

@londonrach

It's their wedding, their money, their choice... Yabu and I'm not even a fan of celebrity.
All of this.

People are allowed to have the wedding they want without thinking of war and world hunger.

There seems to be a battle for the crown of disgusting human beings…

Tilltheend99 · 11/04/2022 20:02

Is this a reverse Grin

Valeriekat · 11/04/2022 20:03

@freebritknee

The beckhams do their share for charity.
Wouldn't the billionaire father in law be paying for it all?
MyCatIsAJerk · 11/04/2022 20:04

It’s their money. They are not obligated to pay off the world’s problems and ills just because they have millions.

Their money, their choice. How much of your income have you put towards these social ills?

As percentages go, I’m quite certain these two families have contributed a good lot more than you have, but that doesn’t fit your narrative, does it. Wasn’t a question.

You know what? The coverage I've seen of this wedding actually seemed quite reassuringly "normal" albeit very expensive.

The grooms brothers were his best men. His little sister the cute bridesmaid. The guests appear to have been actual family and friends as opposed to going for the highest celeb count possible.

Quite apart from thinking 23 a little young to marry these days, I have no issue with what I've seen of this wedding.

SalsaLove · 11/04/2022 20:05

They employed loads of people to put on the show, so there’s that. Otherwise it’s gross. But he’s her starter husband, so there will be more weddings in the future and multiple children caught up in it all.

foxlover47 · 11/04/2022 20:09

@Againstmachine this !! My dad has recently returned from living in Quatar and explained all of this to me

LivingOnAnIsland · 11/04/2022 20:11

Have only read the beginning and the end of this thread, but however much the wedding cost is now money that they no longer have - that money has been passed to caterers, entertainers, florists, dressmakers etc, who can all treat themselves to a little something or pay off their credit cards or pay their mortgage, which in turn means that someone else can pay for their children's dance lessons and school dinners, and eventually some of it might filter through to me . So celebrities, keep having your big weddings, because they more you spend, the more gets passed on.

SeenYourArse · 11/04/2022 20:13

Sorry but you lost me at ‘’exaJerated’ and ‘alot’ 🙄🤦‍♀️ Never mind your chip on your shoulder rationale. Money thrown at problems doesn't always solve them anyway!

Fatarseflanagan09 · 11/04/2022 20:13

I can't be bothered to give a shite what they do with their money, it's not mine.

Yep they are vile places Qatar and Dubai and Beckham is promoting these places for a pretty penny, whilst pretending he's all about charity.

TheArtfulBlogger · 11/04/2022 20:20

Better the money being spent on products and services, lots will have benefit from it.

Do you think it would be better sitting in a bank account @Airfriedpotatowitch?

Suzi888 · 11/04/2022 20:21

It’s all relative. Though I know how you feel.

Superbabe64 · 11/04/2022 20:22

Why? It's all relative. They have the money so why not and both families do plenty for charity to make up for it.

Why is that @SeenYourArse? Do you think people who make grammar and spelling errors are not good enough to ask questions?
Cryingintherain99 · 11/04/2022 20:26

This sort of thing isn't usually something I spend any time thinking about.
However, it makes me feel highly emotional that he's getting married,
He was born the same year as my eldest son, whose development froze when he reached 15 months.
He's almost 23 now and never spoken a word in his life.

I don't begrudge anyone their happiness.
It just really hits me hard to think of where my son might have been - not with the money and fame BB has obviously - just the basic things in life that most of us take for granted - independence and freedom.

RoseWindow · 11/04/2022 20:29

I’m sure they’re all lovely people, but how unbelievably tacky for billionaires to be having Vogue magazine logos plastered all over their wedding. Did the couple or their families financially need to sell off their private event to the media? Obviously not. Why would they want to do it? Why is Vogue behaving like Hello magazine?

RoseWindow · 11/04/2022 20:30

Flowers Crying
Wishing you all the best.

CandyLeBonBon · 11/04/2022 20:32

I'm more annoyed about Jeff Bezos sending a cock rocket into space, as some kind of cosmic pissing contest.

Horst · 11/04/2022 20:35

His not beckham anymore is he? I thought he was taking her name. Plus her parents paid not his so why is his name being dragged anyway.

Horological · 11/04/2022 20:35

I think we should all be angry about the vast inequalities which have grown and grown in recent decades. What we should be particularly angry about is the fact that there is hardly any link between how hard people work and how much money they have any more.

There is no need to pick on individual people to be angry with though. The Beckham's did not cause the inequality. They are not the reason why you (or anybody) suffers from poverty. It's systemic.

To change anything we need to vote differently.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/04/2022 20:36

Snoopsnoggysnog, so they do exist. It's a family name so I notice that I've never met one born after the early 1980s. Same for Geoff, also a family name, although I did once meet a baby Geoff about a decade ago.

Quincunx · 11/04/2022 20:37

They're boring, bland and mediocre just like their parents. Nothing to see. Why do the media force-feed us this crap. Scrolling past it all is becoming draining.

Motherdare · 11/04/2022 20:40

All I want to know is did Victoria take her food for the day in an insulated lunch box? Her grilled salmon and vegetables (no butter or sauces) that she’s apparently eaten every day for the last 22 years?
