I know alot of it is probably exajerated by media but to splosh out that much on a completely ott wedding seems quite revolting to me when millions all over the world are dying and how that money could have been spent on helping starving dying children, housing homeless people and helping refugees fleeing from war torture disaster and god knows what. And while I'm having a moan flogging just 1 painting of the royal family could probably solve alot of problems and it makes me sick how they preach to everyone about everything whilst sitting on fortunes t they don't need want and probably don't even like or notice anymore. Anyway that's what I think.

If the whole world was absolutely equal I bet you and I in the UK would have to give a lot away to become "one of the averages" we are trying to achieve. OP would you be up for that?

I've no idea about her parents wealth, but at least the Beckhams have earned what they have from actual skills (OK Victoria wasn't the best singer of the five, I know....) .

She looked absolutely beautiful, loved the dress, and he looked very handsome and so like his dad. I don't follow celeb culture so had no idea they were married until I saw this thread but good luck to them. I hope they had a lovely day.

A billionaire spending £3m on a wedding is probably proportionally less than a "regular couple" spending £20k on their wedding. Them not spending that much doesn't affect my life either way but businesses like the caterers and the florists will have made money and in this climate, that's obviously a good thing. That's a lot of minimum wage people like servers and cleaners being employed for the weekend.

Meh. It's not one of the other. They have enough money to do both. We could also be happy that they were using this money to several businesses who has had a rough couple of years

Think of all the people who would have been deprived work if they'd had a quiet wedding.

I think it's almost a duty of the wealthy to spend it in a way that creates/support jobs.

All that money goes to the venue, photographers, caterers, suppliers, dressmakers, florists, which employ hundreds of people, who all pay tax. It doesn't go into a hole in the ground. YAB extremely U.

I was going to say the same. All those companies who have got business from the wedding can only be a good thing. Seeing the photos though I do wonder why she didn't get her roots done for her big day!

What a horrible post. I would class 'disgusting human beings' as really evil people; murderers, child abusers, rapists. You might not like the Beckham family but personally I think that's totally uncalled for 😳

To be honest I find the guy to be as dumb as rocks, and I can't believe the tabloids have any interest in him.

Having said that, he has the right to a wedding, and his parents obviously want to give him one in keeping with their celebrity lifestyle.

It may be vulgar, but it’s their money to spend.
Unfortunately we do need the super rich to squander their wealth like this as it keeps the rest of the economy running - think of all the catering, the staff, the services they have employed for this wedding. It all trickles down. Without vastly wealthy people spending their money on things, the economy simply wouldn’t function.
