To want holiday accommodation that’s not dog friendly

Almost every place I look at is advertised as dog friendly! My kids are allergic to animal hair, as in react to hair on someone’s clothes. What’s the point in forking out for a holiday for it to be potentially ruined by hair and manky dog smell?

I've also struggled to find UK cottages that don't accept dogs. I have found some sites seem to have filters that don't work.
From reading on here though, I'm starting to think a search swap is in order as it seems like many who want to bring their dogs can't find those properties yet for those of us with allergies, it's all they show!

I’m madly allergic to dogs, but l love them and would give anything to have one.

So not exactly a ‘dog hater’

@DaffodilDandilion

One can dislike dogs and still be a nice person you know…
Can they really?

You have to remember, that lots of holiday home owners don’t accept dogs but some people still sneak them in anyway. Where we’re renting our place out is a place with lots of holiday lets and I know next door do not allow pets. I can see through a couple of their windows if the blinds are up and have spotted a couple of dogs in there in the past (and a cat shut in a bedroom too!). I have messaged the owner to let her know (although tbh she would probably rather not know and live in blissful ignorance without worrying about her place!). Good housekeepers are great at making a place look spotless and smell nice, even after pets have visited.

I have a dog, I often meet up with friends and leave him at home with my partner.
He is a great excuse though when I don’t want to meet up with some people though…. I just say I’ll bring the hound and then luckily that particular obligation melts away.

A bit late this reply but hope it’s useful to you….

This is what it says on its site:
We understand that dogs aren’t for everyone. From suffering from allergies to simply not liking them, there are plenty of reasons you may want to ensure you’re booking a dog-free cottage. Over half of our carefully selected four and five star luxury cottages are actually dog-free, so by choosing one of these cottages, you can rest assured that one stray dog hair won’t put a dampener on your perfect holiday.*
^^
By using the "Filter Results" button, you can then select other criteria to find your perfect cottage.”

One can be a dog owner and still be a nice person though it’s very unusual.

Well, aren't you unpleasant

Yeah. That says an awful low about you.

Do dog owners usually resurrect months old threads because they just want to be a bit of a dick?

They could have just left it at their first comment. But no, their inner twat won
