Asking how often you have to wash your hair?

My own can't go over a whole day before it starts looking like it needs a wash. Fuckin nightmare and feels like high maintenance. How often are you able to go between washes? How long does your hair stay looking clean before it looks like it needs a wash? How often do you wash it?

Oh and if i put it in a ponytail after one day, my scalp aches

FrankLampardsBrokenHand · 23/03/2022 22:09

If I want to wear it down it needs to be washed every day. I can get away with washing it every other day if I wear it up on day 2.

Its also not true for everyone that leaving it longer will encourage your hair to be less greasy. I've tried it. I just have oily hair.

Ticksallboxes · 24/03/2022 00:43

I fully wash and condition with Aveda products every four days. Between that I just use my DD's Aussie Moist shampoo on the bits around my face and neck and good to go!

It's saved me a fortune!

Libertybear80 · 24/03/2022 01:20

Every 3 days. Three days is max.

EpitomeOfIndifference · 24/03/2022 01:33

Everyday. I have very, very fine hair and if I don’t wash daily it it gets so greasy. I can’t even squeak out a second day with the use of dry shampoo.

I have tried to ride it out multiple times over the years but it makes no difference with the type of hair I have. I wish it had, it would save me so much time!

Momijin · 24/03/2022 05:11

7-10 days. It's thick and curly and doesn't get greasy. A quick spray and it is revived

koalalala · 24/03/2022 05:36

Every 3 days ish - can go 4 with dry shampoo.

thatweirdhippygirl · 24/03/2022 05:42

Once a week ish.

I despise washing my hair, it is a frizzy flyaway mess for days afterwards.

It was in the best condition it’s ever been in when I only rinsed it with water once a day. I would love to go back to doing that but I was always paranoid it would smell. Blush

TrooBloo · 24/03/2022 06:44

Daily. I’ve tried training it but it just doesn’t work.

namechangeanonymous · 24/03/2022 10:31

Weekly usually, if I was going out at night after day 4 I would wash early.

housemaus · 24/03/2022 11:13

5-7 days, depending on what I'm doing. Usually less (3-4) in summer.

Bit of dry shampoo after a couple of days, maybe a rewash of the fringe over the sink if necessary! It's in much better condition now I don't wash it every other day.

PeterandSandy · 24/03/2022 14:56

every three days

Newnamefor2022 · 25/03/2022 16:31

Once a week.

RewildingAmbridge · 25/03/2022 16:43

I was my hair most days because it's thick and curly and I wake up looking like Russell brand after a heavy night. If I straighten it i can go 7/8 days and it still looks fine, but I feel the need to wash it

moggiek · 25/03/2022 16:59

Once a week. My hairdresser says that she’s never seen my hair in better condition.

Norgie · 25/03/2022 17:03

Every morning.

D0lphine · 25/03/2022 19:04

Every other day.

H1Drangea · 25/03/2022 19:10

Every morning when I’m in the shower

SheKnowsWithoutKnowing · 25/03/2022 19:14

Every other day, it's blonde and can look dull if left too long, greasy roots but length is long. Might try what someone else said up thread about using a hairdryer, that and dry shampoo to hopefully get another day without washing.
