Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

I thought she did train, before she launched the early years thing.

If she were overweight I highly doubt posters would be commenting how unhealthy she were and proclaiming that she has an eating disorder. I find it troubling that thin women are often told how abnormal it is to not have excess fat (and I speak from experience on this) whereas it would be body shaming to point out how unhealthy and damaging carrying extra weight is.

She is clearly thin, but she doesn't look unhealthy to me. The photos from today, of her doing water sports, in shorts make it clear that she is muscular. I remember listening to a podcast she was on a couple of years ago and she mentioned how much she likes being outside and forces her children out with her even in the rain, she also appears to enjoy sports and she has said how much she likes running. It's not unreasonable to assume that she just generally likes doing physical activities and because of that is muscular and thin. I have a good friend who is about her size and she doesn't have any fat on her body (even after having a baby), she doesn't have an eating disorder but generally loves working out and doing outdoor activities.

ArtVandalay · 25/03/2022 22:25

Look at today’s photos of Kate in shorts.

Those are not the legs of someone painfully thin or unhealthy as claimed upthread.

Her legs are muscular and toned and very much not too thin. Some posters have a very skewed idea of a healthy weight.

AnastasiaRomanov · 25/03/2022 22:41

I think she looks healthy in this photo. Far too thin in todays photos.

Tippexy · 25/03/2022 22:43

@Sailorsusan

We also know she's a smoker.

Do we? It sounds unlikely. But then I don't know what her daily routine is, as I don't know her.

Yes, we do. Photos etc.
AnastasiaRomanov · 25/03/2022 22:45

I don’t honk there have been any photos of her smoking for over a decade.

lboogy · 26/03/2022 07:05

I think she's u calculated. But then you don't bag a prince by sitting on your hands. I also think she's probably not a nice person

PinaColada123456 · 26/03/2022 07:12

@fridaychatt

If Kate had an eating disorder she probably wouldn't have been able to have children. I am the same height as Kate and look gaunt if I get below 64 kilos. Maybe she is just naturally skinny.
@fridaychatt People with eating disorders get pregnant all the time. It means absolutely nothing. I've known of heroin addicts who were 40 kilos and had a baby. Also Diana had an eating disorder and she had 2 pregnancies.
AnastasiaRomanov · 26/03/2022 07:14

On what evidence? The ‘bag a Prince’ comment is very misogynistic. She met a man she loves who happens to be a Prince. Being a Prince doesn’t make him unloveable as a man. Interesting that no one talks about Meghan ‘bagging a Prince’. Because it would be called racist immediately. Makes no sense.

@AnastasiaRomanov How long have you been on this site? Literally dozens/hundred people were accusing Meghan of manipulating to bag Harry years ago, and as recently as 1 month ago, from one particular poster. Funny how the misogyny is ok when it's against Meghan, yet people cry foul when it's against Kate. And what we do know is that Kate waited a long, long time.
AnastasiaRomanov · 26/03/2022 07:27

Hmm.. what do you think she should have done? Your assumption is she manipulated and schemed to ‘bag a Prince’ and then ‘waited a long long time’. Isn’t that what people who love each other do? Spend their lives together if they really love each other? What a stupid comment. There are many women who never marry but live with their partners. Are they also waiting around to be married? Should they be blamed for that? A lot of assumptions here.
Many reasons for them waiting a long time to marry. Time out of the limelight before being thrust into Royal duties. Time to make sure Kate knew what she was getting into. Maybe she herself wanted time. Life isn’t a tabloid newspaper.

I agree, it's ridiculous especially in this day and age when we know that marrying into the royal family presents great difficulties. Kate and William took a long time to get to the altar, they obviously loved and love each other. Both could have taken their pick of other suitable people but ultimately they made the decision to marry; what's more, it seems to be working very well.

Meghan, too, didn't set out to bag a prince but when she and Harry met, they fell for each other. They were 'grown up' people too and knew what they wanted from a partner. He had had a couple of long term girlfriends before her who did not like the lifestyle (coupled with him being in the forces), and I don't blame them.

Whoever thinks marrying a prince is a great deal is barking. It's also rather insulting to the two young women who did marry prominent royals as both were eligible in their own right.

As for Kate being too thin, she always looks very healthy to me.

I think it takes a very strong character to marry into the royals.

@aloris

The fancy frocks are just their usual diplomatic wear, I don't fault them for that. I think they would have been criticised if they dressed down as it would look like these visits weren't worth the same level of diplomatic cachet as other countries. But Worldometer shows that in Jamaica only about 26% of people have received at least one Covid vaccine so it might have been nice to bring some vaccines rather than some fancy frocks. What substantive benefits do Caribbean countries get from being subject to the British Monarchy? Just curious.
But not because of a vaccine shortage- people have chosen not to have it.
ArtVandalay · 27/03/2022 11:31

I can’t get over the hideous yellow and white dress she wore as she left the Bahamas. It’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen her wear.

I read this thinking your comment might be a bit overblown.

Then googled.

Apologies. Thanks That dress is awful.

Your username is pretty awesome though. (Another Seinfeld fan here. :) )

ArtVandalay · 27/03/2022 11:55

SpringLobelia Wink

It really is a shocker. The pattern, the bow, the sleeves, the peplum. Hideous.

TheKeatingFive · 27/03/2022 11:59

Gosh. Yes it's awful.

The blue evening dress from the other night however is gorgeous. One of her very best looks.

SpringLobelia · 27/03/2022 12:00

The bow caught my eye. Then everything else. I just had a feeling of increasing horror. I wonder if she approved it herself because it does seem a mis judgement. Daily Mail is comparing it with a comparatively rather lovely dress Princess Diana wore in Oz, that actually is several million times nicer and would have suited KM perfectly as she is tall and slim.

kate M to my mind has my idea body shape. Someone once commented of me that my shadow makes me look like a mushroom. Apt, if not kind.

It’s the worst of the 80s.
Gonnagetgoing · 27/03/2022 12:09

I’ve seen a couple of anorexic women in past few years in public and Kate doesn’t look like them! A cousin in my family is bulimic and you’d never know to look at her.

Roussette · 27/03/2022 14:42

The yellow dress is not as bad as the long metallic pink dress with flouncy sleeves, that was a horror.

However the silver long graecian style dress was absolutely beautiful, it really was a real princess dress, I loved it, the material was soft and shimmery

VladmirsPoutine · 27/03/2022 15:16

I think she's a savvy woman. How many of us are living the lives we planned to have when we were 13?

She had wealth and privilege that most don't. Not savvy, just lucky.
VladmirsPoutine · 27/03/2022 15:22

@Waxonwaxoff0 Any woman who was going to have a reasonable shot at bagging William would have needed to have a degree of wealth and privilege beyond the reach of most people.
