Harry suing the home office

TooEarlyForMe · 18/03/2022 15:11

Does he realise where the money they would have to pay him if he was successful in suing, would come from?

The British public

Thanks Harry.

Yep I totally agree. The Nazi costume, and partying in Las Vegas, naked snooker/pool etc etc. I am sure a lot of stage has been covered up. It's the look of fury n his face when things don't go his way which I find chilling. He's an adult (supposedly) he should act like one and keep his private thoughts, private. The last two years have ruined the public reputation he had carefully curated.

peonyred · 18/03/2022 18:30

Sorry - typos galore. A lot of stuff has been covered up.

momtoboys · 18/03/2022 18:33

I wish there was an eyeroll emoji I could insert here. The two of them just need to go away.

MorganKitten · 18/03/2022 18:36

@iklboo

Harry opted out of that life but he is still a massive terrorism target, and even more so at the moment. He didn't choose to be born and he didn't choose to be put at constant risk by his parents and grandparents.

Which is why the British tax payers shouldn't fund his security. Especially when he is far better off than most of us.

All the royals outside of the direct line have to pay for their own security, why should it be different for him?
Vapeyvapevape · 18/03/2022 18:37

He was told he wouldn't get security when he left the family wasn't he ?

Spot on. His capacity for rage when things don’t go his way is, as you say, chilling indeed. I don’t think there’d be any regret if he never returned to this country. California is welcome to him.
Pyewhacket · 18/03/2022 18:40

@cherrycokr

From a business standpoint he’s now a liability.

Prince Andrew has been for years, how much wealth did he generate for the country?

As a Prince he was able to talk peer-peer and was heavily involved in some serious Defence contracts with Saudi Arabia.
NameChChChChanges1 · 18/03/2022 18:40

@TheHoptimist

He wants protecting- you cant but the protection he needs in the UK.

He was born into a society base don a monarchy where his life was at risk from the moment her was born (relatives of his were killed in IRA bombings)

He is a victim. Just look at the images of the Queen, Charles, William and George. George has been born into a life that in other contexts might be called modern slavery. He has no choice in how he will live his adult life, like his father and grandfather.

Harry opted out of that life but he is still a massive terrorism target, and even more so at the moment. He didn't choose to be born and he didn't choose to be put at constant risk by his parents and grandparents.

Lots of regular people are killed in IrA bombings too
Laiste · 18/03/2022 18:42

Oh bloody Harry - why can't he just piss off!?

Sue for this sue for that! Just bugger off and carve out the life you wanted. Why keep on reaching out to poke the hornets nest?

Laiste · 18/03/2022 18:45

He doesn't want to be forgotten does he?

''I want to get away from you all! .... But look at me! I'm across the pond! Ooh-oooooh!''

Hmm
Migrainesbythedozen · 18/03/2022 18:46

I say good on him! I hope he sues the whole damn lot of them, after what he and Meghan have been put through.

QuizzlyBear · 18/03/2022 18:49

@thebellsesmereldathebells

I've got not time for him - for any of them - but in this, I think he has a valid point.

He didn't have a choice about being born into a high-profile family who are undeniable targets for terrorism etc. He has made a choice to reduce his involvement with the "work" of that family, but he doesnt have a choice to take the target off his back (and the same applies to his wife and children).

If something terrible did happen to him and his family because the British State decided to prove a point by not giving him protection, MN would be full of people bleating about whose fault it was.

Absolutely this.

Yeah. He could just live quietly and fade into the background like they wanted.... But low and behold the $$$$ Spotify, Oprah, Netflix etc proved too difficult to resist 🙄 So why not hit the Home Office up for some spare change too.

Except he has been trying to pay for it, not get it for free.

Thing the queen mother got her daughters to do the Hitler salute as well....

Do you? Do you know who will end up paying the bill if he successfully sues the HO? You and me.

And what have they been “put through”? A multi million £ wedding, luxurious homes, never having to worry about money - most people would be more than happy to be put through that.

DesertStorms · 18/03/2022 18:52

Never having to work. Juggling and feeding chickens.

Nocutenamesleft · 18/03/2022 18:54

You can’t pay for your own police work.

It simply doesn’t happen. We can’t bend the rules for him as nice as that would be.

The rules are it comes with the job. No job. No protection. Regardless of having to pay for it. Again we can’t bend the rules for him.

It’s shit. Morals come into it. But black and white. That’s what it boils down too

@SoItWas

"He has always been spoiled , dim, petulant" and tone deaf.

Like the time he wore the nazi costume. Was also photographed roaming a hotel or such naked?

I'd almost forgotten about those incidents. I wonder what else he did, that was hushed up (especially in light of the revelations about Andrew).

He did some idiotic things back then but the public loved him and forgave him. He was "one of the lads" Now he spends his time in his ivory tower preaching to the peasants and he's found that the peasants don't like being preached to. He should probably do what he originally promised: live quietly with his family in California and stop whining about how everyone including his close family have been so beastly to him 😩

He needs to grow the fuck up.
Whining about his shitty life when he was happy enough before he got married. He barely smiles any more.
He lives in a country where everyone carries guns yet he wants paid for protection from the tax payer while he's in the UK? DFOD
He should be ashamed of the way he's treating his Grandmother.

Please don’t assume that all royals feel a victim. Do you actually know how other royals feel about their family and duty? He will have security at the royal households and when with other serving royals. He basically wants us to pay for when he’s off on his jollies, visiting friends or whatever. He turned his back on a British public who loved him, which he had every right to do. Now he’s suing the government we pay for so we can pay again for the privilege of his social life..
