a bunch of adult men acting like little kids turns my stomach. More worrying is my DH watches the pile of crap.

I dislike Jeremy Clarkson and the whole 'who gives a shit about the environment, let's all drive fast cars and knock over cyclists' attitude, but I still love Top Gear. You can't take it seriously

Shaniece · 05/01/2008 22:08

My Dad calls the presenters of top gear 'a bunch of overgrown schoolboys' which i agree.

didn't hammond put his family through it twice?

Tortington · 05/01/2008 22:08

yabu

DaisyMoo · 05/01/2008 22:09

Well that's his family's business isn't it? No worse than journalists who report from war zones IMO.

pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:11

snarf - splitting hairs

pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:11

oops snaf

Snaf · 05/01/2008 22:11

Would I be really splitting hairs if I pointed out my name's not snarf?

Snaf · 05/01/2008 22:12
Grin
Easywriter · 05/01/2008 22:12

Put his family through it twice???

Once with high speed impact of car and tarmac, followed by grass etc

What else did he do?

Oh! I know. The fluffy haircut!

bossybritches · 05/01/2008 22:12

Shaniece I have to say for someone who professes to hate TG you know an awful lot about it & it's presenters??!

ANd all thoses others who say what a load of old waddle it is...you obviously watch it to be able to comment in so much detail.

YANBU......but

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT LEAVE THE ROOM!!!

Maidamess · 05/01/2008 22:12

Its my guilty pleasure.

pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:12

too much wine

Easywriter · 05/01/2008 22:12

No really.

What was the second thing?

Shaniece · 05/01/2008 22:13

"Dont mind a programme about cars but they are a bunch of kids presenting it. FFS the fact that one of them nearly died hasnt even prevented their juvenile and crass presenting"

Exactly.

not a fan here either...

yurt1 · 05/01/2008 22:14

Love it- love the fact they can all laugh at themselves, and don't take themselves at all seriously. And I missed the America one- and dh said it was hilarious (until I see it Botswana remains a fave).

Easywriter · 05/01/2008 22:14

Bossy britches - I whinge cos I am virtually made to sit through it.

i.e. DP loves it and I my friend am too tired to shift my fat ar*e off the sofa once it's actually found somewhere confy to sit down for more than 5 mintues when the dc's are in bed!

Snaf · 05/01/2008 22:15

I agree the haircut was a step too far.

Easywriter · 05/01/2008 22:15

Actually that American one WAS funny

pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:15

I have watched it on occaision when flicking through but invariably end up flicking past as they annoy me.

yurt1 · 05/01/2008 22:16

Hammond rolled a little van thing didn't he- and crashed in that race track thing where they were racing for 24 hours or whatever. I don't think someone has too be all dour because they cheated death and brain injury though!

Shaniece · 05/01/2008 22:18

"Shaniece I have to say for someone who professes to hate TG you know an awful lot about it & it's presenters??!"

My DH watches it all the time whilst i am on the laptop - so i guess i know whats going on . I can assure you, I am not a fan of the show.

OP posts:
pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:18

right now i will have to look on bbc iplayer thingy to see what the american one was like and retain my positive view of easywriter!! (it is on bbc isn't it??!)

yurt1 · 05/01/2008 22:19

hpw does that iplayer work?

pinkmook · 05/01/2008 22:20

you just go the site and press play on the prog you want to watch..its just a flash player...you dont need any fancy software or anything
