I really love the smell of petrol. My DH thinks I'm mad (because poisonous etc). I think tar smells nice too. Am I the only one?

Yes to all the funny smells. And the morning after bonfire night?? You what...like a day in the park for me. Yes to tar too I love t-gel shampoo for that reason. And fresh cut grass...divine!

I love the smell of petrol! One of my favourites. I also love the smell of rain on hot pavements/roads.

that's called petrichor. Its my favourite word.

Rubber. I always wait in the garage part when having new tyres done. Love petrol but it's carcinogenic so trying to stop that. We were having some rooms painted at work and I think the decorator thought I fancied him because I kept calling in for a chat so I could inhale. And definitely carpet.
And settling tarmac.

Diesel.
DH works with diesel only engines and has done all his life so I will Don my Freud Hat and say I have positive associations with diesel.

When I was pregnant I loved the smell of dry sherry.
I worked in a bar and used to sniff it all the time, I did try a wee sip but the taste was disgusting!

Oh, and sweaty boxing gloves. Grim, I know but that smell of sweat when you walk into a boxing club 😍

Aviation fuel on a warm day is a lovely smell

Yes I love petrol. I have to stop myself deeply inhaling it. I think I'm anemic.

And diesel smell reminds me of ice creams.

Oh and Witchhazel! I used to deliberately scrape my arm on the wall at school so I could go and get cotton wool soaked in witchhazel… then would spend rest of school day just sniffing it 😝🤣

Love petrol and tar, also stale beer, like the smell of an old pub. Haven't smoked for at least 5 years but I still like the smell of a cigarette too

Oil, diesel and grease probably reminds me of my Dad returning home from work as a child. Milking parlours as I worked in one for a while, freshly mown grass and newly bailed hay. A newly bathed baby smelling of baby bath.

Petrol, dance studios, bike shops, and photocopier toner.
