I really love the smell of petrol. My DH thinks I'm mad (because poisonous etc). I think tar smells nice too. Am I the only one?

The smell of a shoe repair place.

And, for something a little less intoxicating, Play-do and coal tar bath additive. The latter probably because I associate it with not itching to death afterwards.

I don't think I have any especially "weird" smell preferences. I love masculine scents, like leather, woodsy scents, the smell of fresh-cut wood, but I don't think any of those are unusual. I did always love the smell of our pool/beach inflatable toys, which is maybe a bit odd. Also the tent we used to have... Some sort of stale (or musty?) canvas smell, I guess. It reminded me of the smell of rain.

I sometimes dislike generally popular floral scents, though, such as hyacinth or Cestrum nocturnum. And if there's any leftover ketchup on a plate even a short time after a meal, the smell turns my stomach, even though the smell of it straight from the bottle is fine.

Love the smell of diesel.

Also love the smell of damp old places, like basements. Wish I could bottle that smell

Deep Heat, TCP, creosote, hot tar.

Petrol , fresh tar and creosote.

Ah, yes, chlorine is nice. I like the odd whiff of bleach on laundry day.

I like the smell of tar, but not petrol.

Plastic umbrellas!!

That plastic umbrella or plant raincoat smell reminds me of primary school.

Ok, thinking of some more... Car wax... and the smell of rotting leaves... My dogs' ears and toes.

Carpet shop! It’s honestly the best smell in the world.

When I was around 10 we moved house had new carpet laid in every room. I sat on the stairs biting it for the whole day . I literally would have eaten it given half the chance!

Living rurally, the smell of livestock feed. There's something wholesome about that scent.

Sweet tobacco smoke. Licorice.

I can still vividly remember the smell on the inside of a new pencil case as a kid. The plasticky ones that came with a sheet of foam packaging inside. Loved it

Christmas crackers - nothing like sticking your nose right on for a good whiff of a freshly popped cracker

This is a pretty well known nice smell. You can buy gasoline scented candles.

Personally, I like grout.
