To ask how to dispose of sex toys?

NC for obvious reasons.

I have some old toys I've been holding on to ages because I don't know how to get rid of them.

At the moment I'm living with some family members so am very reluctant to put it in household waste even if it's directly in the bin outside.

One of the toys has a plug as well so I'm not even supposed to dispose of that in household waste. When I Google it says to take it to a local recycling centre...really??

How do you get rid of toys? Especially those with plugs?

Daily mail is garbage on earth (incase there's any of them lurking here looking for things to repost on their tragic site)

What about WEEE? You can't just put them in a bin. Return them to the company you got them from, I'm sure under WEEE manufacturers are supposed to take items back.

@NameChanger45465465 you can still get toys that are mains powered, mainly wands as far as Im aware which just makes them more powerful.

My husband brought a large 'massager/vibrator' as a Christmas present. When we had the theme of 'version of something we like but wouldn't buy' (we've had some weird buying cateogories). It has a plug.. I would recommend but not for the faint hearted

I've just reread the regs and it seems like it's only certain retailers and online only ones might not fall into the rules. So LH might have stopped doing it.

I held on to my old toys for ages as well until I got up the nerve to take them to the recycling centre. One was a proper dildo so I hadn't wanted to! But I planned it all out. I went on a weekday morning when it wasn't busy, concealed in a bag so I could just take them out at the electric appliance area and run. BUT because it wasn't busy one of the workers came over and said, "I'll sort that for you love" and took the bag off me!!!! And yes he took out the obvious vibrator dildo, kind of paused, said nothing, and put in the electrics area. Ugh ugh ugh.

It's a magic wand. It broke and I ended up buying a replacement. The old one has been sat deep in a cupboard for a few years now. Sorry if tmi, felt the need to explain that before PPs start thinking I've got a sex toy relic in my bedroom

My London borough has little recycling points in various places, often car parks. As well as bottle banks of etc, they have collection points for 'small electricals' - so anything with a plug or that takes batteries. Easy to discreetly dispose of broken sex toys there!

Loads of toys are charged off the mains now. Usually the more expensive ones. Some of you need to get out more! (Or stay in more…)

Oh this is a great option, I've not come across electrical recycling stations plotted about before though. Is there a way I can find out where some of these are?

We planned to brick ours into the wall when we renovated, along with a few other disparate items, in the form of an unsettling time capsule for any future builders to find. But we forgot.

When my old vibrator broke I just chucked it in with landfill stuff as I has no idea what to do with it!
