Tuesday as a middle name?

coolyeraeroplane · 10/03/2022 19:29

DH wants to give our daughter the middle name 'Tuesday' (won't go into the reasons why). I actually don't hate it but don't love it either but I know it would make him very happy and his parents. I just think will people think we're mental using Tuesday as a middle name? Like teachers etc? I feel it's very alternative.

Her name would be Jessica Tuesday Jenkins.

I LOVE it. My kids have all got unusual middle names...I like names with stories, go for it

BrownStripePJ · 23/03/2022 08:59

Wednesday would be better for a middle name since it's middle of the working week Grin

Hi
My name is Sam Tuesday Kendall. I absolutely love it and when ever I tell people, they love it too 😍 Xxx

mrlistersgelfbride · 16/09/2023 00:02

I love it! My daughter was born on a Tuesday and I'm actually gutted I didn't think of using it.

CallieQ · 16/09/2023 01:06

😂

Epicstorm · 16/09/2023 01:14

I don’t think Tuesday will raise any eyebrows. I find the alliterative JJ much more of a problem. Sorry suppose it’s just personal taste.

Just no. Other kids will find out and tease her for it. It isn't worth it just to please your DH and his parents.

Don't be ridiculous. Half the names out there today are wacky, and Tuesday is tame compared to a lot of them. I wouldn't choose it as a first name and if she doesn't like it she doesn't need to tell people. But I actually think it's quite nice as a middle name, especially if there is a meaningful reason behind it.

Only my best friends know my middle names because I've told them, and family of course.

The funny thing is, is that I was born on a Saturday 🤣. Apparently there is an actress called Tuesday World and that is where my mum got her inspiration from 😊 X

Arsegrapes · 16/09/2023 08:42

So stupid. Definitely will get the "see you next tuesday" on a regular basis.

TheVeryVeryHangryCaterpillar · 16/09/2023 08:55

Why? What is the significance of Tuesday?

I’m in the minority here it seems. 😂

Naming after seasons or months makes sense, if that particular time is special to you and there’s a beauty to it. What makes Tuesday special? 😬

Qilin · 16/09/2023 09:51

I have taught for years. I don't know many of the children's middle names. They don't appear on the general register, SIMS lists, etc unless you manually add it to the report being generated.

I think middle names are where you can probably be a little alternative if you want as they are rarely used much anyway.

Storminateacuppa · 16/09/2023 10:01

Please don't do the alliteration thing. I was a JJ and I absolutely hated it.

zingally · 16/09/2023 10:03

Bit unusual, but anything goes for middle names. If you're fine with it, then go ahead.

Regholdsworthswaterbed · 16/09/2023 10:09

I'd go for Saturday, Tuesdays are a bit shit.

Glorifried · 16/09/2023 10:29

She will be asked if she was born on a Tuesday allllll her life!!

Samtuesday · 16/09/2023 20:35

Yes I have been asked that question all my life!! And I have to explain every time 🤣. I always end up explaining why I was called Samantha too. After the witch in Bewitched 😂.
So I just go by the name Sam now, soooo much easier. X

Years ago when we were TTC we were on holiday in France and had a nice, frisky afternoon in bed at around the right time of the month. It was a Tuesday. We said afterwards that if it worked and we had a girl we would call her Frances Tuesday.

It didn't.

We did eventually have our DD several years later but she was called something quite different.

Notpooryet · 16/09/2023 21:47

It's fine.

Tuesday Weld.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 16/09/2023 22:07

I would have it as a 3rd name then just put first two and surname on anything official.

Cherrysoup · 16/09/2023 22:24

Sorry, weird, just no.

bridgetreilly · 16/09/2023 23:07

I can onlythink of the Miranda scene where she has to say Tuesday for the automated phone and ends up saying it in sillier and siller ways.

Frickinghell · 16/09/2023 23:12

Each to their own. If you like it, go for it however, when they get to school, think about how its going to sound to teenage peers

HRTQueen · 16/09/2023 23:17

I love the name and Sunday

it’s parents passing comments about names that’s the issue children will just accept unusual names

JuliusWho · 16/09/2023 23:20

The thread is 18 months old. I imagine the child has been named by now.
