Tuesday as a middle name?

coolyeraeroplane · 10/03/2022 19:29

DH wants to give our daughter the middle name 'Tuesday' (won't go into the reasons why). I actually don't hate it but don't love it either but I know it would make him very happy and his parents. I just think will people think we're mental using Tuesday as a middle name? Like teachers etc? I feel it's very alternative.

Her name would be Jessica Tuesday Jenkins.

Xpologog · 10/03/2022 20:02

Love it.

TirednessButHappiness · 10/03/2022 20:02

My friends middle name is Tuesday, known her since primary school and in our 40s now…. she never had any issues and liked it as her name. No issues at primary, secondary, uni or work from people criticising or laughing about it.

I recently met someone called Tuesdae and at first it made me double check I'd heard correctly (by listening carefully not by asking), but quickly became totally normal. She's black. Might be more weird if you're white but it's a middle name so won't come up that often anyway.

VelvetChairGirl · 10/03/2022 20:03

my son has two names, the first he can call himself 2 from, the full or short version. the second he can call himself 3 things from, good selection of choices.

I have 4 names with 6 choices and 1 can double up as an alternative surname if I want.

Darbs76 · 10/03/2022 20:04

I don’t hate it

ThisBloodyNoiseInMyHead · 10/03/2022 20:05

I like it but it's a bit of a mouthful. My GDs have got middle names of Autumn and Summer (neither were born in those seasons)

readsalotgirl63 · 10/03/2022 20:10

Gotajobthrunepotism · 10/03/2022 20:11

FilthyforFirth · 10/03/2022 20:14

I think it is really cool and the right side of 'out there'. Go for it!

MintyGreenDream · 10/03/2022 20:14

*there

My children struggle to recall their middle names as they are used so rarely.
I really don't think it matters at all.

Toasty280 · 10/03/2022 20:17

Tuesdays child is full of grace -I wouldn't do it

VariationsonaTheme · 10/03/2022 20:20

What a bloody amazing name! Love the whole comic book feel of it, without it being outrageously different.

Ff10n · 10/03/2022 20:21

I really like it (a lot)

BeePeeGee · 10/03/2022 20:22

I know a January Tuesday. Born in May, no idea what day on Grin

beenaroundtheblox · 10/03/2022 20:22

LOVE IT. I wanted it for my daughter. My husband wouldn't allow It.

BlueOverYellow · 10/03/2022 20:22

I'd be annoyed if he seriously thinks his parents get a say in what you name your baby.

You both have to really like a name to give it to your own child, imo. If you don't, just calmly say so and look for another name you both like enough to use.

Minfilia · 10/03/2022 20:23

Not my cup of tea. I don’t really understand why you would want to name a child after a day of the week!

Whitefire · 10/03/2022 20:23

I worked with someone called Tuesday. Listening to her making appointments was always worthy of a smile. "No I'm called Tuesday, I'm coming to see you on Thursday.... No, I'll be there Thursday" and on it would go.

LightSpeeds · 10/03/2022 20:24

I like it but I think it may attract rude comments about being conceived on a Tuesday...

AnxiousHeffalump · 10/03/2022 20:24

Was it Joey from Friends that said about Tuesday being a nothing day?

User65412 · 10/03/2022 20:25

@kitcat15

No one would ever know...middle names are not on the register
They are on the register at my school! I've been teaching ten years and seen and heard all kinds of weird and wonderful middle names (and first names). Children very rarely tease eachother because of names anymore - there are so many different ones they just accept them. It's great. Love Tuesday.
2undertwoo · 10/03/2022 20:26

I quite like it. Call your child whatever you want.
