To have done the most embarrassing thing ever

Happened about an hour ago and I think I’ll need to go home and never come back to the office again

I work with a very very very handsome man. He was on the phone in the office this morning trying to sort out someone to come and fix his boiler.

He happened to say his postcode and me being the creepy wee lady I am put it into maps on my phone to see where he lived Blush

For some reason (and I still don’t know why) my phone blared

STARTING ROUTE FROM current location TO handsome man’s postcode

I was 6 feet away in a quiet office. He turned to look and I couldn’t even look up for wanting the ground to swallow me whole.

How do I come back from this? 😂

Please someone else tell me you’ve done something equally as embarrassing

If he put ur post code into his phone would everyone find tjis so funny or would mn b calling the police judge jury n excutioner

In a world where women committed more than 90% of violent crime, stalking, sexual offences against men and were physically stronger and easily capable of hurting them you might have a point....

Vonesk · 29/02/2024 12:10

I should not be embarrassed.
As a woman , society has made you hyper vigilant.
I should congratulate yourself that your highly intelligent brain responded this Quick!!!!!!!
This reactive response is comendable .
The reason you are so distraught is because you operate in this highly - gifted , over- thinking dimension.

Also : With the advent of the Internet this type of thing must happen all the time.
There could be multiple reasons how this would have happened and because he was focussed on his boiler hes probably just thinking about that.
Its important that we know where our colleagues live just in case we might need a lift home...maybe????????????????????
Also you are sooo interested to find out if he lives in a posh area

Why bump a 2 year old thread?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 29/02/2024 12:59

This thread almost needs a cake and candles for the zombie
Wny do people do this?

ElleLeopine · 29/02/2024 13:04

I have noticed so many Zombie threads being resurrected recently. It's quite annoying 🙄

Ukholidaysaregreat · 29/02/2024 13:36

I read this at the time and laughed my head off! I have just read it again and laughed! Hope you managed to style it out OP. 💀Skull for the zombie thread.

CharlotteUnaNatalieThompson · 29/02/2024 14:20

Well for one I'm delighted someone resurrected this zombie as I've been crying reading it 🤣🤣🤣

easylikeasundaymorn · 29/02/2024 14:21

To be fair while zombies can be annoying (e.g. when op is asking for advice and after giving you realise its years old and the tantrumming toddler is probably a sulky pre-teen now and has made it this far without my invaluable input on cutted up grapes...) in some cases like this one I don't see how it's an issue...it was quite funny at the time, its quite funny now, op wasn't asking for advice so what's the issue if new people become aware of an amusing incident?

Also if zombies were banned we'd never have had the classic thread where the poster asked for advice on a certain pushchair and then answered herself 6 years later which always amuses me 😁----

Branwells77 · 29/02/2024 17:47

OP thank you, you have made my week I hope you can face him again and not go bright red I also think it’s to late for an excuse unless he asks you outright why you were using maps and his postcode 😂

JeaniesGenie · 29/02/2024 18:11

@Hereforaglance are you ok??!

Errrrr, yes, I think "almost 2 years after the event" pretty much qualifies as "too late".

Parpophone · 29/02/2024 18:30

Bugger - supposed to be in bold not quotes.

HaggisBurger · 29/02/2024 19:25

I for one can’t believe it’s two years since this happened. It was a great thread … in 2022

chaosmaker · 02/03/2024 01:29

I blame the suggested threads for the resurrection of zombies
