My 8 year old daughter came in from school and literally had a breakdown because I couldn't put up her LED lights in her room tonight. I have never her seen her like that before. We have spoken since and as far as she says there is nothing bothering her at school, or anything but boy oh boy. She had the tantrum of all tantrums, she was slamming doors, crying, screaming she wished she was never born, hates her life, hates me, hates her auntie, hates her cousin, I'm the worst mum ever. Crying and hyperventilating. Swinging between screaming hysterically, breaking down crying apologising and then storming away screaming insults again. I tried to help her regulate her emotions but there was no calming her down. She wasn't allowed tv tonight due to her behaviour and thankfully went for an early night without much of a fight. I am in shock with how terribly out of character she behaves tonight.

Upon speaking to my sister, her daughter was the same, complete nightmare all night. I then spoke to my friend and both of her sons have been really challenging since finishing school also.

Anyone else's acting up?

Also not everyone's children is old enough to be conscious?

I had to stop watching the news last year due to covid overwhelm and I'll be honest, I've gotten all of my news about Ukraine from here! So no my two year old is not reacting to current events or picking up on anxieties from global events.

People are so quick to criticise and slag other people off. The moon has been here longer than every single person on this thread. And your mum. And your grandmother. And her great great grandmother. So sorry if I don't just accept that the moon has no influence.

Second hand Ukraine stress and tiredness I reckon. One of my DC is in Year 2 and has never done two full consecutive terms at school.

This has all been quite an eye-opener for me. So people ACTUALLY think it's the moon. I always it was just a daft saying Grin

@SparkleSpangle

It's the moon. It is considered mumbo jumbo but I'm sure there is truth to it. Particularly a full moon.

I worked in a school for a long time. If it was a full moon I'd say in the morning it would be a bad day today and it always was. People thought I was psychic!

The police force are always busier on a full moon cause it sends people crazy haha. Ask a police officer, they brace themselves for it haha

The full Moon effect doesn't really make sense to me as the phases of the moon are basically the Sun reflecting off the Moon. It would make more sense if there was a noticeable effect on people when the Moon was closest to the Earth and there was a greater gravitational pull ie when there are spring tides (and maybe there are?)
