To go back to hairdresser and say this isn't ok?

Whathefrick · 28/02/2022 21:06

This is the picture I showed her. My hair was a bronde balayage but grown out for a good 8 months so the top half was quite dark and the bottom was very blonde. She said that she would do a dark root melt and then bring some blonde up to the top but that she would also add some lowlights to add dimension like ok the picture

So what the fuckety fuck has she done to my hair? I was very clearly not happy I was holding back tears but just wanted to get out of there. This isn't good enough though right?

Also the third pic ( of what you wanted) has a warm tone to the darker sections so she was maybe trying to match that?

Tippexy · 28/02/2022 22:09

@CareBear50

I've no idea which is the before or after pic so cannot comment
Seriously?

Of the three photos you can’t work out which is a filtered model?

Question887 · 28/02/2022 22:13

I can't believe everyone thinks it looks look, I'm with you OP!
I'm no expert but the bottom half looks orangey/pink and the top half has some weird 90's style highlights. I'd buy a £4 box dye and chuck it on top! (Have done this when I asked for a lighter brown hair and got a head full of blonde highlights taking me from dark brown to pretty much blonde).

crazycatgal · 28/02/2022 22:14

I keep reading the comments saying the hairdresser has done a good job and checking back to the pictures wondering if something has gone wrong with my eyesight.

I can absolutely see why you are not happy. The brown/auburn colour is very wishy washy and there are streaky blonde highlights at the top of your hair. Not what you asked for at all.

Nsky · 28/02/2022 22:17

Go back and explain, see what they can do?
Nothing to lose

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 28/02/2022 22:20

I’d go back. The highlights are too blocky and the bottom bit looks pink

steff13 · 28/02/2022 22:20

I would go back and see if they can fix it.

Doubledenimrock · 28/02/2022 22:22

You need far more foliage in there and a light ashy toner

Eloise666 · 28/02/2022 22:23

I agree with you as well op. I’d ring and tell them ASAP to see what they suggest.

FizzyBizz · 28/02/2022 22:23

It’s nice, but not what you asked for!

@Whathefrick

I think there is confusion. This is the photo I showed as what I wanted.
It looks like it's the shampoos that give the volume that makes it look different to the photos
lborgia · 28/02/2022 22:24

Definitely bordering on copper in parts. If you have no red in your hair naturally, that's going to look very odd around your face.

I actually think it looks as if she hadn't done enough, and then what she has done is badly matched to your existing colour.

I can understand your distress, both in terms of your confidence, and the money spent.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2022 22:25

Oh, gosh @Whathefrick YANBU. This is very similar to what happened to me last summer, and I was really upset. I was too scared to go back, but went elsewhere since, and it’s all fixed.

You would be perfectly entitled to go back and say it’s not what you asked for and needs fixing.

CognitiveDissolver · 28/02/2022 22:25

I got some strange tiger stripes in my hair once too. Unfortunately it was at the front. Theres far too much colour contrast in your hair. I ended up getting it all dyed a light blonde but at least I no longer looked like a tiger!

Hawkins001 · 28/02/2022 22:26

This reminds me of the lady on YouTube that spent around $300 dollars and she said she looked like a Karen hair cut, (the lady in the videos words not mine)

Hertsgirl10 · 28/02/2022 22:27

@crazycatgal

Same.

Must have very low standard and expects from their hairdressers.

SoupDragon · 28/02/2022 22:27

Nope, but it severely reduced my tolerance for dickheads.

🤔 Interesting given what your first post on this thread says about you.

LondonQueen · 28/02/2022 22:27

I wouldn't be happy but would just not go back. Change hairdresser.

musicviking1 · 28/02/2022 22:27

I agree it doesn't look like it's been done very well at all, it looks like 90s thick striped high and low lights. I had something similar happen recently, I also didn't say anything at the time to the colourist but I did tell the girl blow drying my hair that I wasn't happy and that my hair looked like I stepped back into the 90s. I haven't gone back there since.

boringperson123 · 28/02/2022 22:29

It doesn’t look bad but I don’t think it matters if you look ‘fine’ or ‘nice’ etc. Your hair before the appointment was probably ‘nice’ too but you’ve paid for a service and you should get what you’ve paid for. Hair appointments are expensive, you should say something

whysoserious123 · 28/02/2022 22:30

Ohhhhh no call the hairdresser they will fix it for free. I've done this. The salon first tried to fob me off and said that the picture I showed them wasn't possible to do in one go to my hair, then I explained that the picture I showed them was my hair (it was a picture of the back of my head like yours) from the salon I had it done in a few months prior and they all of a sudden said they could do it and the senior stylist fixed it. You have paid for a service and it's not what you wanted if you ordered a hoover and it didn't work would you send it back and get a new one of just keep it? Same applies here

EthelTheAardvark · 28/02/2022 22:30

@Whathefrick

This was my hair before the appointment, I took this morning
Your photos aren't showing up on the website
BurntO · 28/02/2022 22:31

I honestly think it’s fine, just a different shade. And your hair doesn’t look styled. Curl it and see what you think.

GarlandsinGreece · 28/02/2022 22:32

Way too reddish and brassy, and the blending is amateurish. I wouldn’t be happy, either, OP. You need to go somewhere different, ask for darker roots and ashy balayage at the bottom.
