Just that really. Sociopathic Patel refusing visas. In a time where we need leadership & empathy & intelligence there's a ducking idiot at the helm & Rees~Mogg making a fortune with insider trading.
Who the hell will admit to being so sociopathically selffish & grabby to still vote Tory?

2019, Woman's Place....is a lifetime ago in terms of the political parties understanding gender id and the ramifications for women

I'm not saying left politics doesn't have misogyny. of course it does, it's a different flavour to right wing misogyny. but to abandon socialist ideology in favour of capitalism, because of this, is a terrible idea.

unless of course you preferred capitalism and the Conservatives in the first place/on other issues anyway. but if that's the case, just say it. stop making gender critical feminism a right wing movement

@OMG12

Why do Labour need to make things better for women?

Surely the Tories have taken care of all that in their 13 years in power?

Because things can always be improved. The trouble is, as it stands Labour will make things a lot worse imo. So if they want women’s votes they need to say how they will do better. Why do you think they will be better for women?

Booklover40 · 09/10/2023 09:17

If your daughter is having to share these spaces, the whole thing came in under Tory rule!

Labour haven't been in power for 13 years.🙄

And the point is that under Labour rule things like gender neutral toilets will become the norm.

I don’t fancy being unable to go out in public in case I need the loo or having to worry about my dd’s being forced to share previously single sex spaces with men.

It doesn’t even matter to me what Starmer says - it’s just back-pedalling and that will all change if they get in with the crazy extreme left waiting in the wings and that absolute nutter Angela Raynor as deputy PM.

gender neutral toilets ARE the norm already. under Conservatives. Most schools have switched to this, teachers displaying preferred pronouns, Stonewall and Mermaids infiltration of NHS etc, the whole GRA fright....all happened under the conservatives

Fightyouforthatpie · 09/10/2023 11:24

Has anyone else noticed that all the "Raynor" haters mispell her name the same way?
They all have non-specific grounds for hating her - just "she's awful"
Not much to the sisterhood or advocating for women there is there?

MarshaBradyo · 09/10/2023 11:24

This issue has risen in the last few years. Mostly because males are becoming more emboldened, women are seeing more threats and violence and institutions are defending their position more comprehensively

Plus TRA legal challenge is very high

The parties can do the ‘no one is talking about it’ or actually hear what’s going on and do something ‘for votes’

Trying not to talk about it is no good for me

I'm confused, that is just someone else saying that there are trade unionists and 'conference delegates' at the protest. And a video panning over the heads in the crowd. am I missing something?

First sentence, 'there were lanyard wearers.' I saw them myself.

regardless of whether the council is labour or conservative...they aren't been given enough money to cover necessary spending (bit like us as individuals?

Precisely.

Poverty contributes too. If the council has a large population who don't earn enough to pay full council tax that also affects how much money they have to spend.

Although leafy prosperous Tory Surrey Heath seems to have been dreadfully mismanaged financially.

Surrey Heath used to be Tory and is now Lib Dem and the new incumbents say if they ceased all services it would still take a decade to pay off the council's enormous debts.

One of the biggest single contributors to the debt is that the Tory council bought a shopping centre valued at around £30million for £100million. It's not clear yet if they are corrupt, idiots, or corrupt idiots.

Tory run Hampshire County Council say they expect to go bankrupt in 2024/25 unless they are allowed to charge for services on top of council tax. So more local taxes may be incoming for Hampshire residents.

Hampshire have just spent millions doing up the lower end of the M3 for the Solent Freeport consortium so I imagine a motorway toll is coming.

Yet again yesterday women were besieged by a violent mob of male Labour delegates bellowing abuse, calling us cunts, telling us to get out of our own city. You tell me what's changed.

And the one making this a left/right issue is you. If the safety of half the population is now a right-wing issue - and make no mistake, it is women's physical safety at stake here, I saw the behaviour, some men even tried to get over the barriers to rush at the women, let's not forget the Palestine nonsense the day after the videos of that poor murdered woman either - then I say this as a bona-fide leftie and an ex-Labour member, the left deserves to be wiped out. It won't be missed.

well eventually under duress Keir Starmer come out, defined a woman as an adult female human. But it shouldn’t have ever received a different answer. It strikes me that it’s not a position he is committed to, it certainly isn’t a position the wider party is committed to.

what I want is the following:

-sex segregated spaces (plus a third transgender spaces if that community don’t want to use sex segregated spaces)
—any discussion of transgenderism at school to be taught as an ideology with a balanced view of being gender critical looking at the actual science (properly presented and not some wholly misrepresented distribe)

  • a commitment to look at transrights in a way that does not affect women’s rights
-language designed to undermine women banned in official literature, eg womb havers, birth person etc. such language only to be used on an individual basis when requested. —a review of laws to protect individuals who are disadvantaged through their gender critical views inc in educational establishments, justice, social media etc.

whoever comes closest to that gets my vote. It tells me everything I need to know about the party.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 09/10/2023 11:35

No. It happened because of Labour legislation. It is Labour's fault.

socialism is better form EVERYONE for a start, built on the ideas of minimum standard of living for all, nationalisation of public services, taxation etc

we have seen the trickle down economies of the Conservatives for the last 13 years(?)...you can visibly see and feel the effect of their government, rise in homelessness for example, cutting of services. I don't know if people supporting them over Labour are just not old enough to remember the difference

verdantverdure · 09/10/2023 11:39

I don't have the luxury of being a single issue voter.

I need a functioning country.

Whilst you're quite right that 13 years of Tory mismanagement has dug a giant hole for the next government to dig us out of.

Labour won't be paying the Tory Donor Premium of 12x the going rate or wasting millions on stupid "just for show" policies like Rwanda.

That frees up quite a lot.

Labour have party donors too. Of course they do.

Rwanda will be interesting. I’ll wait to see what happens with court case, numbers and how Starmer will deal with that.

They're all sh!t. Sh!t with slightly more glitter is still sh!t.

I don't vote because I don't want to be responsible for letting in slightly better sh!t to be sh!t, and then be accused of being responsible for causing this sh!t.

It’s not single issue is it? It’s a mindset which belies the framework in which all other policies are set. It is that fundamental.

how are you going to ensure equality in education if you can’t define a woman correctly?

How are you going to ensure women’s healthcare? What about the pay gap?

It shows underlying misogyny mens needs are going to put above women’s. It’s not single issue at all, trying to reduce it to that underscores the lack of understanding, deliberate or otherwise, of the consequences of this ideology

You do realise politicians respond to the electorate

If we didn’t care past 3 to 5 years ago, in fact if the tide was completely the other way why would it be changed?

It’s now that women are talking about it.

Only one side has said ‘no one is talking about it’ and used the claim rights hoarding dinosaurs

I see you expect some kind of going back in time generally but it’s not going to happen.

The world has changed a fair bit since then.

there will barely be any healthcare or education to argue about, if we stick with capitalism and conservative ideology
