DH called into our local chippy after work tonight, kindly bought me a bag of chips... yet no scraps (batter!).

He NEVER asks for scraps or claims they never have any...i mean is it even worth having chips without scraps on the top??

So as not to dripfeed... DH does not have scraps, salt nor vinegar on his chips...

Chips and scraps!

Now I know what it is that does look pretty good. I’m westcountry born and bred and I think it’s just not a thing down here. I’ve literally never seen it or heard anyone ask for it. Now, a battered Mars bar 🤤 🤤 Went to Scotland last year and had one everyday. My thighs didn’t thank me!

I don't like batter and don't tend to eat it, unless it's from the chip van that comes to our village they do perfect light batter somehow. If anyone wants my credentials I'm a Northerner from Lancashire, (well, quarter Lancashire, half foreign and a quarter Scottish too).

Scraps : must be a regional thing coz I've never heard of it in my part of SW London.
