My local multiplex charges about £15 for a standard screening of an evening for adults- which I think is about double what it should be...

And thought may be a terrible side-effect of illegal streaming and downloading...

But on here a poster up in Lancs says they only pay about £4 for the same...

Thanks for the heads up about the Cineworld deal, £3 for any film, this Saturday is good! Smile

TAKESNOSHITSHIRLEY · 23/02/2022 21:44

3.50 for us but son has a cea card so i get in free
twin that with a free bus pass each we can go to the cinema for 1.75 each

i dont buy goodies there we go to Poundland a few doors down and just walk in with the bag.
never ever been stopped and we have been doing this for years and years
when my ex was here we used to do that twice so 2 adults(carers) and 2 kids and both had cea cards so 3.50 for 4 people, they dont do adult and child its per seat
4 people had free bus passes or if we drove used the council car park next to it and used our blue badge as both boys have one

its only me and my 11 y old now and i dont drive but its very easy to get to by bus

as we home educate we go in the days when its quiet. Many of times we have had the screen to ourselves

we saw uncharted on monday at 2.30pm and it was u 2 in the back row and all the way down the front row a old fella by himself.

its a nice cinema with plush carpets, decorated to look like a old fashioned cinema but has modern technology.
comfy leather seats with loads of leg room(im 6ft and fit fine)

im valleys of south wales btw

All tickets £5 round here no matter what. It’s been that way for a couple of years now and I definitely has encourage me to go to the cinema more. Similarly there’s now offers on multi-buying food - so £10 for any 2 items (nachos, drink, popcorn, hotdogs etc). So can go to the flicks and enjoy food for £15.

Before it was close to £12 per ticket for adults, and no offers on food, I remember taking DD (about 3 at the time) to see Trolls and and for 2 adults, a child, 2 popcorns, 2 drinks , 2 hotdogs and a kids drink and popcorn it was £74 Shock

The very nearest cinema to me is £9.95 a ticket.

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 23/02/2022 22:15

@Easterbunnyiswindowshopping

Vue £4.99 Saturday and school holidays they have £2.49 showings.
Same

I'm way up north England, near the Scottish border

EricScrantona · 23/02/2022 22:19

Never heard of Everyman. What a weird name for a cinema.

Vue near us, east of England/east mids is £4.99. We had to venture to cineworld the other day as vue weren't showing a film at a suitable time. Felt robbed. It was just under £11 for adults and £8 for kids. I think they assume everyone will have the monthly access pass thing.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 23/02/2022 22:23

£18.90 for Cineworld unlimited, I go about five or six times a month.

OldTinHat · 23/02/2022 22:27

Cineworld £10. Flea pit £4.

OldTinHat · 23/02/2022 22:28

Oh but Cineworld do an unlimited card for £16 a month which is great value as I go several times a week.

ShavingTheBadger · 23/02/2022 22:29

A new small chain has opened near me (Nth Mcr) called Reel - prices start from £4.50 I think.

19lottie82 · 23/02/2022 22:44

I think at the cineworld it’s about £10-11? We usually go on a Tuesday or Wednesday tho when you get 241 with the meet at app.

19lottie82 · 23/02/2022 22:44

Meet at? Meetcat!

Brainfogmcfogface · 23/02/2022 22:48

£3 independent cinema, wouldn’t pay a tenner plus to watch a film at the cinema when they get released to stream so shortly afterwards for not much more.

Freebus · 24/02/2022 13:36

Our local cineworld is doing a £3 special this Saturday.

Abracadabra12345 · 24/02/2022 14:09

Another one who pays £4.99 at the Vue

Abracadabra12345 · 24/02/2022 14:10

I’m south east London btw

PerditaNitt · 24/02/2022 14:14

London zone 3 - 7.99 at a refitted Vue with reclining seats. Their business strategy has been to reduce ticket prices to get people to come more often (and buy food/drink). Central London used to be £15+ for a rickety seat in an overcrowded cinema - it used to put me off and I’m glad for the change

IJemimaDigging · 07/03/2022 18:13

Saturday morning films are between £1.75 and £2.50, but they're quite old.
