My local multiplex charges about £15 for a standard screening of an evening for adults- which I think is about double what it should be...

And thought may be a terrible side-effect of illegal streaming and downloading...

But on here a poster up in Lancs says they only pay about £4 for the same...

I'm in NI. £7.50 or £8.50 here depending on which chain of cinemas you choose.

Cherrysoup · 21/02/2022 10:31

£10 or £7 with the Vodafone app. £12 for the art deco cinema up the road, but you get an armchair, the bar is right there, you can order cheese etc.

DillonPanthersTexas · 21/02/2022 10:31

Local Odeon: £15.50

Nice private screen with big arm chairs, a glass of wine and no dickheads: £17

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 21/02/2022 10:32

East London. The Vue is now £4.99 any ticket any time adults and kids. Our local independent is £4 a ticket or £12 for a family of four. Our local Everyman is £12 a ticket but we are members so get so many tickets for a flat fee.

I like the cinema, we go a lot 😂

NotQuiteNormalMe · 21/02/2022 10:36

Yes isthismy 0.75 per ticket booking fee. I've just logged on and the tickets have gone down since covid, now 9.99 plus booking fee.

PositiveLife · 21/02/2022 10:36

Vue is £6.99 and has nice reclining seats. The others are £11-14 ish and then some are extra for the few reclining seats they have. Tbh though, I think Vue has reduced its prices as I don't remember it being any cheaper pre-covid. The other ones are also located closer to shopping areas so I assume people will pay the higher price as its convenient.

NotQuiteNormalMe · 21/02/2022 10:37

BurnDown we'd go regularly if we could pay those prices

rifling · 21/02/2022 10:42

8 euros at local independent cinema, 6 euros for students, OAPs.

FourTeaFallOut · 21/02/2022 10:44

Our local is a Showcase and is about £9.

ForcingSmiles · 21/02/2022 10:47

Vue is around £9 but I get it discounted through work so we pay around £7.50 ish when we go...

In Cambridge

EveryAvenue · 21/02/2022 10:47

Our local ODEON was charging £4.99 pre covid to compete with the local Vue but I believe they’ve upped them to £7.50 now. We still pay that because the Vue is a shit hole and they let all kinds of trouble makers in who ruin the screening.

Freebus · 21/02/2022 10:50

Around £5.99 . There are 2 cinemas with about 4 miles of each other, so I think the competition keeps costs down. A 3rd is being built.
I pay with clubcard points anyway.

MaizeAmaze · 21/02/2022 10:51

£10 pretty much at either of our local cinemas. We dont go very often, and just wait for them to be available to stream.
I live in a cheep part of the country.

Echobelly · 21/02/2022 10:52

North London: Vue, £5.99 all shows, all tickets

Everymany - about £15 but much, much nicer cinema and all round experience.

Juniper68 · 21/02/2022 10:52

£4.99 @ Vue.

Cineworld have a deal on the 26th for £3.

NotEnoughTime · 21/02/2022 10:53

I posted about this only yesterday!

My local cinema charges £16.25 for an adult ticket and £11.75 for a child ticket. There is also a booking fee of a couple of pounds on top.

We don't go often! Maybe twice or three times a year because as a family of four (3 adults and 1 child) it is just too expensive. It's a shame because if it was cheaper we would go more regularly.

Hmbleybee · 21/02/2022 10:55

Not been for a while but I think it was about £8.99 a ticket. And then another £1k for a small bag of very salty popcorn 😋

Willyoujustbequiet · 21/02/2022 10:55

£4.99 Vue like many others

Lastqueenofscotland · 21/02/2022 10:56

HOME in Manchester is lovely and £9 a ticket which seems fair for the films by smaller directors/producers etc it shows

Ragwort · 21/02/2022 10:57

Local independent - £4.50 per ticket.

OneSwallow · 21/02/2022 10:57

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

Vue cinema, from £4.99 a ticket.
I went yesterday and that’s what I paid. Another cinema nearby charges £11.99. I won’t be going there again.
MintyGreenDream · 21/02/2022 10:57

Vue 4.99

Hallowbat · 21/02/2022 10:57

4.99 at Vue we always go there

WellTidy · 21/02/2022 10:59

From £8.99 at Vue. Even for kids films. Some showings in afternoons or evenings are £9.99 or £10.99.

TheGoogleMum · 21/02/2022 11:01

I live in a city. My most local one isn't bad £9.50 an adult and I actually often get a deal to make it more like £6 but that isn't in the city centre or anything
