To ask you to show me your gorgeous fancy houses?

There was a thread recently asking people to brag about their wonderful kids, it was really sweet!

It got me thinking, what about the homes we love and are super proud of? If you're anything like me your home is your castle and safe haven, and I just KNOW there are people here with ridiculously gorgeous spaces in their homes! (Self confessed house porn addict, love looking online at the new listings locally 🤣)

Soooo show me your fabulous houses, or even just little parts of them you absolutely love, brag about your achievements and hard earned beautiful homes ❤️

I’ll share my kitchen and dining that I put in about 8 Yrs ago, I’m still happy with it. The layout was changed and works well now, I love to cook and entertain.

OP I love that Cultra house! I won't post mine as it's quite recognisable. We bought it last year and it was shared a lot online locally (am in NI too). Not nearly as fancy as that house but insane gardens and a lovely wine cellar. We are chuffed with it!

I have always wanted to live in a church conversion Comtesse.

HeyItsPickleRick · 16/02/2022 20:53

@Brigante9 I looove your mirror, and applaud your bravery posting a hot tub on MN.

wowsaidtheowl · 16/02/2022 20:54

@LoisLane66

Parts of my home, unedited.
Is that Haslemere high street?
25summers · 16/02/2022 20:54

Not mine, and I (typically) can’t find any photos atm!! Will keep looking- but my grandparents house is one of the White House’s of Crete as they call them, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Even more special as they designed/ help build it (well grandad anyway) aswell x

Snooks1971 · 16/02/2022 20:58

@stuntbubbles

I love how no one is sharing Grin

OK, I can’t crop out ALL the mess, and it’s not ~fancy, but it was bloody hard work to get it from bed bugs, cigarette scent, Artex and a window that leaked every time a cloud went by to this point. And I do love the colour of the fireplace.

::Awaits collective judgement for boasting::

Absolutely gorgeous @stuntbubbles you’ve got a beautiful style ❤️

Is this what you had in mind for the secret library door, op?

Ilovecharliecat · 16/02/2022 20:58

@FaoinDrualus

I do NOT have a fancy house, I have a small appartment! But one of the things that blew my mind when I moved to Switzerland is that most appartment building have a nuclear bunker in the basement. It was a legal requirement since 1963. So here OP, is a photo of the door to my nuclear bunker Grin
Oh my goodness! Is that a communal space?
Snooks1971 · 16/02/2022 21:02

I’m really tired and HRTFT but will share my nooks and crannies on my day off.

That’s a promise 😂

MalagaNights · 16/02/2022 21:03

You know what's lovely on this thread? How much people love their homes and the spaces they've created.
I love the little nooks or details that obviously give people such pleasure. That's so much more inspiring than a huge fancy house.
If you love the home you've created you're very lucky.

OP I love the light on your pink sofa. It looks like a quiet almost melancholy light.

Kitsmummy · 16/02/2022 21:05

I’m in! I LOVE houses and being nosy.My kitchen is my favourite room. We have done so much hard, dirty work to get it like this

Love the pics so far, especially the outside deck up in the trees

There is a church conversion in our village that I always drive past and look at longingly 🤣 I'm feeling slightly relieved now that our place is all one level and doesn't cost the earth to heat given what @ComtesseDeSpair has said ( still absolutely gorgeous though!)

Ha ha I'm no interior designer if I was I'm afraid I'd be a bit of a one trick pony as I only know how do do 'country' style. Most of my things are second hand from fb marketplace or ebay ( thank you Laura Ashley second hand sofas! ).

@DappledThings I love that library, I'd love one but not enough space and I have given away a lot of books in our last move as I have no room for them. Makes me quite sad really as I have one small bookshelf in my bedroom now.

@FitAt50 oh that courtyard garden is just 😍 I love them so much!

@taylorwilde what a wonderful view, The perfect way to start and end a day!

@DoYouSeaWhatISea what a lovely big kitchen! Our kitchen is wonderful too but atm it's full of mud and dogs so I'm not taking any pics 🤣

We've got horses, too many dogs, chickens and cats and it's ALWAYS muddy all winter long. I've given up doing the floors more than once a day tbh 🤷‍♀️

MalagaNights · 16/02/2022 21:07

@jackieh1987 well aren't you nice??

I think OP is just trying to be an encouraging pleasant thread host.
Which is nice.

Wagsandclaws · 16/02/2022 21:08

@Kitsmummy oh my 🤩 what an amazing place you have - everything is just 👌🏻

You are the conviction i need to paint my beams white ( off white maybe ) I love it!

I'm a four year old journalist, I write for ceebeebies magazine, we are running a piece on interior design as we are looking to branch out from our usual Mr Maker stuff.

Your house is beautiful! So much natural light but somehow still quite rustic, that's not easy to do, well done!

That's what I was really hoping for 🤗 I think it's wonderful when you have a space you really love and find comforting, and I'm always open to stealing ideas and love seeing what others have done with their beloved homes.

I'm going to refrain from asking you to PM me, no matter how desperate I am to see it 😂 Cultra is wild now, I mean it always was but the prices are eye watering. There are some real gems in NI aren't there? Propertypal is far too easy to waste hours on lately. Your home sounds amazing, shame it's so recognisable I'd love to see!

Gorgeous houses are overrated! I have two dogs, two cats, two grandchildren so it's impossible for me to have a pristine gorgeous house. But it's the homliest place I've ever lived and I would not change a thing! Except maybe a few less pet hairs😁

PaddleBoardingMomma · 16/02/2022 21:17

@Wagsandclaws @FitAt50 @DappledThings your homes are so lovely, did you guys have a vision in mind and redecorate from scratch or have your styles sort of evolved over the years as you've lived in the house?
