Virginia Guiffre and Andrew settle out of court

1000 replies

Suzanne999 · 15/02/2022 16:15

From Metro
Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a ‘settlement in principle’ in the civil sex claim filed in the US, court documents show

Does this show his guilt? Water down in some way his actions? I’m sure some will say this proves she was only in it for the money. I think she and a lot of underage girls were abused but because of the wealth involved those guilty will never face justice. Can’t understand why I feel sad about this outcome.

Yep. And within a week of the carcrash interview, the Queen went riding with PA and went to Church with him, him grinning like a jackass in the back of the car.
If that's not showing support for your son, I don't know what is.

Gonnagetgoing · 16/02/2022 12:55
@Gonnagetgoing - if you believe these sorts of conspiracy theories, nothing I can say on here will sway your beliefs.
It was a tragic - and avoidable - accident.
Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread, so best leave it at that.
@Maireas - I don't generally believe conspiracy theories but in general I err on the side of Diana being killed. She didn't wear a seat belt so yes she would have been severely injured and maybe killed but there was a delay in the ambulance getting her to hospital.

If you seriously believe RF wouldn't try to get her out of the way for good and then cry crocodile tears afterwards then that says more about you than me.

Yeahthat · 16/02/2022 12:56

@Gonnagetgoing

You're totally irrational.

Maireas · 16/02/2022 12:57

No I don't.
Diana was elevated to quasi sainthood and the royals suffered a backlash.
Don't get personal, though.
No need.

Charles also made a thing of being seen walking to Church with him.
bubblesbubbles11 · 16/02/2022 13:04

not read the whole thread
but the whole prince andrew thing makes me feel sick to my stomach - all aspects of it.

I really think the Royal Family should come to an end, yes the Queen has done a lot but all of the rest are a total waste of time

Roussette · 16/02/2022 13:05

Yep. They all supported him, despite his dodgy dealings in the ME, his over inflated sale of house and subsequent backhander from some ME oligarch, his humungous private jet travel bills to golf courses all over the world (where was Charles then?), the kickback payments to him for brokering deals for pipelines in Kazaksthan, his connections with arms sales all over
And there's more...

All of the above..

The use of a seatbelt saved me. It most likely would have saved her.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 16/02/2022 13:08

And I hope VG can find some sort of peace now.

Although I would have been desperate to haul everything out into the light. Even more than it has been.

Blossomtoes · 16/02/2022 13:09

Charles also made a thing of being seen walking to Church with him.

He didn’t actually. They attended the 9am service at Sandringham on Christmas Day 2019 specifically to avoid the publicity that attends the 11am service. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, though.

I'm glad it saved you, Sheldon - it must have been a horrible experience, though. Unless there was a conspiracy to murder you - I already know you're virtually a saint - but did you have an Arab boyfriend?
Roussette · 16/02/2022 13:10

What in god's name do the daughters think of all of this.

Beatrice brokered his car crash interview

Eugenie was instrumental in setting up an Anti Slavery and trafficking charity 10 years ago

Surely her charity will have searching questions as to why PA has paid out millions to a victim of sexual trafficking

Well, apparently both women (and the ghastly Ferguson) are convinced of his innocence. Who can explain that.
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 16/02/2022 13:14

I don’t blame him for settling.
Given the massive publicity and the general prejudice against him, given the company he was keeping, not to mention his privileged status, IMO it was highly unlikely that any court would have been able to assemble a jury consisting of people with no preconceived ideas.

I have been a juror for a historic sexual abuse case, and two of the 12 had clearly made up their minds that the defendant was guilty before hearing any evidence at all.

This would surely be 100 x more likely in the case of PA.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 16/02/2022 13:16

but did you have an Arab boyfriend?

Nope. Sadly not. And the boyfriends I have had didn’t have a rich dad nor were they heirs to a big corner shop.

They did have a ship though, in a bottle.

And I have a budding dowager hump on the back of my neck.

The only tenuous link to an Arab I have. An Arabian camel.

I do feel for them. They will be tarnished with his brush. And it's nothing to do with them.

Roussette · 16/02/2022 13:18

Hmmm.... they can't speak out against their father, but haven't they knowingly supported him?

Lockdownbear · 16/02/2022 13:19

Are civil cases even hear by a jury?
I thought they were just a judge / sheriff depending on the court.

bubblesbubbles11 · 16/02/2022 13:22

"Well, apparently both women (and the ghastly Ferguson) are convinced of his innocence.

PA is their lifelong meal ticket.

And they are of absolutely ZERO consequence to PA who only sees them as useful in his "What about ME and my family?" conversations he has with the Queen.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 16/02/2022 13:23

I too feel for his daughters.

But how they can be convinced that the squeak is clean is beyond me.

ParkheadParadise · 16/02/2022 13:28

Can someone on here answer my question?
Just saw on the news the dirty bastard is still denying any involvement with VG!!!
So why did he pay up 🤷‍♀️ is he now admitting his guilt.
Next thing we know he will be out with his Mammy celebrating her jubilee.

Duntelchaig · 16/02/2022 13:35

Oh let’s not start on his daughters. Blame the women again.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 16/02/2022 13:37

It is a hell of a lot of money (if reports are to be believed) to pay out for someone you’ve never met - even though the charities involved will be worthy.

You would wonder if the others allegedly involved have all put their hands in their pockets to prevent dryasabone being quizzed. Muzzling the weakest link?

Who knows?

That makes no sense, I assumed he would pay up and shut up hoping the whole thing would go away.

I am curious about it being framed as a Charity Donation, can you not claim tax relief on donations?

Blossomtoes · 16/02/2022 13:40

@Duntelchaig

Exactly. The misogyny is just awful. Blame the Queen. Sarah’s a nasty piece of work. Daughters support their dad.

It’s just spiteful.
