I eventually got a card and a muffin Hmm. I asked if that was seriously the best gift he could find and he just gave me an embarrassed look. I haven't given him his gift because this isn't the first time he's made no effort (usually Mother's Day and Valentine's Day - I don't expect much but it's the lack of even an acknowledgment that pisses me off). I had a c-section 10 days ago and I've managed to sort a card and gift so I don't think he has any excuse.

He's cooking us a nice meal tonight but if I hadn't sorted it out, he'd have probably cooked me fish fingers and chips. He's not usually useless, just seems to be when it comes to dates that require him to acknowledge me.

TheGratefulBread · 14/02/2022 20:24

A cheese hamper. He knows me so well!

25summers · 14/02/2022 20:26

Me and DP totally forgot until I saw all the posts on Facebook this morning, rang him at work to say I’d completely forgotten so hadn’t got him anything, his reply was “oh thank fuck for that coz I forgot aswell, shall we get a dominos tonight”Grin
He’s definitely the one!

fingersdoublecrossed · 14/02/2022 20:28

Lovely flowers delivered in a vase, bottle of Prosecco and a card.
I got him his favourite chocolates, a card and a Chinese takeaway.
This was over the weekend - he's away with work tonight.

SirenSays · 14/02/2022 20:29

We celebrated a few days ago as we couldn't today due to work commitments.
He got my grandmothers typewriter repaired for me and bought me a heart shaped box of chocolates. I thought that would be it but he also surprised me with a gorgeous necklace and matching bracelet.

ChillyAvocado · 14/02/2022 20:31

Nothing - he’s away on holiday too, so I’m alone.

Treating myself to a face mask, hair mask and a night in front of the TV Smile

A lovely card and a trip to the garden centre where we chose some flowering plants for the garden which will last and bloom for the next 364 days ... and we will both love seeing them grow and thrive every day Flowers

sjj257 · 14/02/2022 20:38

Ferrero rocher and flowers

Really18 · 14/02/2022 20:40

Nothing. We can buy shit that we don't need or do food shopping. The kids make their dad a love card and phoned people they live to tell them.

Really18 · 14/02/2022 20:42

@TheGratefulBread

A cheese hamper. He knows me so well!
What a thoughtful gift.
Tiny837 · 14/02/2022 20:42

My husband and I don't celebrate valentines as I celebrate with my parents as this is the day they adopted me 30 years ago

Edinvillian · 14/02/2022 20:42

A card, bunch of daffodils, box of chocs and bottle of champagne. We've ate the chocolates and have left the champagne for the weekend.

worriedatthemoment · 14/02/2022 20:44

PeanuttyButter · 14/02/2022 21:04

Nothing here. We don't celebrate it. I'd do something to mark the occasion if I could be bothered cooking etc but I can't haha. I wouldn't buy anything though.

BeaLola · 14/02/2022 21:07

@sarah13xx

A card and a big bag of mini eggs (I like mini eggs) 😂 #spoiled
Love mini eggs - was it the family sized bag - fab Smile
BeaLola · 14/02/2022 21:08

@Wakemeuuuup

A card and we're getting a lovely takeaway. We've been together almost 30 years and gave up on gifts for valentines a long time ago.

My parents who will be 60 years married this year have gone to their favourite hotel which I think is lovely

That's so lovely re your Parents - don't forget to order the card from the Queen for their 60th
duvetdayforeveryone · 14/02/2022 21:12

I thought I was getting F all, but then he cooked me pasta for dinner so I can't complain really.

givemeallthecheese · 14/02/2022 21:13

Ahh that's lovely @joysmoy66

All we hope for as our kids grow up is that they are genuinely nice, thoughtful people. Looks like you've done well there Smile
