What is expensive but worth every penny?

Following on from the previous thread about expensive purchases that weren't worth it, what is expensive but actually is worth it? What do you own or have done that is very expensive but you don't regret it at all?

Posh holidays. Had so many crap and miserable holidays as a child, I refuse to have them as an adult. I'd rather go away less often and spend more.

JBrand, Frame and Paige jeans. I'm very curvy and well fitting denim transformed my wardrobe. It makes everything look better.

Merino wool sleep sacks and blankets for temperature fussy DS. Improved his sleep so much.

I have several pieces of art that I love.

We had a convertible in our late twenties that was twice the price of the sort of car we needed or had had before. Loved every second of owning it.

iPhone.

We are looking into Stressless furniture. Is it really worth it? I have only sat on them in a showroom. We have just sent 2 new Sofolgy sofas back because they started sagging after a couple of days and were unbelievably uncomfortable.

I didn't get on with the signature stressless chair and footstool at all. Nobody wanted to buy it so it ended up in a charity shop

My hairdressing appointment every 8 weeks and my yoga membership. Yoga has saved my sanity recently and makes a difference with my joint pain.

  • Kerastase haircare (shampoos, conditioner, mask and leave in treatments) worth every penny as really improves the condition.
  • Facials every 8 weeks
  • Lashes every 3 weeks (can't live without! My lady is a lot cheaper than average in the area too and I have been going to her for over 2 years - always complimented)
  • air fryer - use it ALOT
  • nutribullet - use it everyday!
  • iPad - had mine 9 years and somehow still going

Dip powder manicure every 2/3 weeks.
A lot of people get to see my hands in the job I do and the dip powder covers up and strengthens my weak, flaky nails,

I keep them quite short and choose a very natural colour but they look lovely.

NinaDefoe · 13/02/2022 01:02

Mac book pro. Best laptop I have ever owned and still going strong after 9 years! 😅

Pluvia · 13/02/2022 01:03

Camper van. Not an expensive one: already nine years old when we bought it and still going 13 years later. Even a single night away, parked up with a beautiful view and peace and quiet, feels like a little holiday. We've had wonderful cheap weeks and fortnights away to places we'd never have gone if it had involved hotels. We've been able to park up and attend parties and not had to have a taxi home afterwards.

Fantastic days at the beach, with a private place to change and shower and have a nap. Extra accommodation if we invite too many people to stay. Office accommodation during lockdown. We've lent it to others so they can have family to stay, too.

Best thing of all is that even after all this time, it's only worth around £3k less than we paid for it!
