What is expensive but worth every penny?

Following on from the previous thread about expensive purchases that weren't worth it, what is expensive but actually is worth it? What do you own or have done that is very expensive but you don't regret it at all?

My Vitamix. Worth every penny.

Scotland32 · 14/02/2022 18:00

I wish I could go through this entire list and write it all down!

Mine are:
Horses
Aromatherapy Associates room diffuser
An extra 2 hours of my cleaner to get her to sort laundry too
Good bras
Dubarry boots
Our new logburner

Question though - are MacBooks worth it? Am considering one when my current crappy laptop dies!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 14/02/2022 18:03

My car. It's 5 years old nearly 6. I love her. Makes me happy even though it's nearly as much as my mortgage on HCP. 3 years left on it now payment wise but I'll run it into the ground for years to come. It's a Jeep grand Cherokee.

high-quality bedding. I have down duvets and pillows. High thread count linens and a featherbed topper. I wish I had invested years ago. its one of my joys getting into my bed now. you spend so much time in bed make it the comfiest you can afford. you won't regret a penny spent.

@MorningStarling

A good knife. Spending £30+ on a knife sounds ridiculous when you can get one from Poundland but a good knife lasts. Use it for cooking today, use it for survival when the shit hits the fan and there are no longer functioning shops.

That's not to say there's no place for cheap knives, it's good to have a few around that you don't care about losing or breaking, but a sturdy full tang blade is essential.

Totally agree. My dad trained as a chef almost 50 years ago and had a set of Sabatier knives which he gave to me when I moved out 20 years ago, I still use them now and they are as sharp as the day he gave them to me.

Proper, freshly roasted and ground coffee. Not high street coffee shop over roasted nasty dust, or dry crap in pods.

It's not cheap, but it's well worth the money.
