Following on from the previous thread about expensive purchases that weren't worth it, what is expensive but actually is worth it? What do you own or have done that is very expensive but you don't regret it at all?

Years ago I bought Janet Reger underwear. Very expensive but stylish. I worked out door a lot. So nice a contrast to weatherproof orange on top
These days everyone does better quality.

@Tarne I’d love to see your home and meet your animals, your life sounds charming. Also please take me the next time you jet off to St Moritz, or wherever your favoured ski spot is. Thanks, Toots.

Independent midwives for DCs 2 & 3. Floris perfume.

How do you stipulate what perfume they wear? Couldn’t you have just lit one of those fancy candles?

Professional / Chef quality kitchen knives - like zwilling. I’ve never looked back

The pony I bought last week - he’s put the smile back on my face after losing my previous horse following an awful incident and my poor cat within a couple of days of each other a couple of weeks ago. Both left such a big hole that I knew I needed another horse/pony as soon as possible. Unfortunately we not sure we are going to replace our lovely cat as his sister seems happier without him around……

Proper natural latex mattress topper. Had it four years. Still amazingly supportive and no compression of any sort.

My career break. Despite Mumsnet general advice I've found it surprisingly easy to get back into work and kickstart a new career. It's great that times/attitudes have moved on.

Ninja foodi, I rarely use the oven now.

I have a Dyson hairdryer/airwrap too, I don't think it's any better and curling/smoothing/ drying than other much cheaper gadgets but I like how it does it at lower temperatures so it doesn't damage mine or the kids hair.

Shortbreadselection · 13/02/2022 09:54

@TOOTs I love your user name, I am going to use it as have some animal babies due if that's ok? Grin.

Yes I have a charming life now. A sense of humour helps turn the negatives into positives ( where appropriate).

ILookAtTheFloor · 13/02/2022 10:02

My contact lenses. They're toric (bloody astigmatism!) daily disposables, Acuvue Oasys and they're £50 a month.

Expensive, but worth it!

Also, my tattoos 'cos I love them!
