Mine is a famous quote;

People don’t remember what you say
People don’t remember what you do
But people always remember the way you made them feel

Those that criticise you, are doing less than you!

Everyone is fighting their own battle that you will never know of. On the back of this, be kind.

ImustLearn2Cook · 12/02/2022 03:21

Just be.

Fredstheteds · 12/02/2022 03:32

If it doesn’t sound or feel right - it isn’t

CliantheLang · 12/02/2022 03:34

Never need anyone more than they need you.

HootOwl · 12/02/2022 03:40

Be glad you are different to other people. Don't try to fit in, have confidence in yourself as you are.

Happiness is an emotion, not a state of being. Try to become content and at peace. It is a pre-requisite of experiencing happiness anyway.

Be grateful for what you have.

There is not enough kindness in the world. Try to add to it.

A life without risk is boring and lonely.

Life will take us where we need to go.

Kittromney · 12/02/2022 03:51

Don’t take advice.

ZforZebra · 12/02/2022 04:31

If you’re going through hell, keep going.

expat101 · 12/02/2022 04:31

Don’t sweat the small stuff

RainbowMum11 · 12/02/2022 04:33

Best advice I ever got, from my Mum:
Look after your friends, men will come and go but good friends will be with you forever.

I have found it to be very true xxx

Riapia · 12/02/2022 06:10

If you stop drinking how will your friends know you love them at 2am

theculture · 12/02/2022 06:24

So true about always using a bigger kitchen bowl!

Notsureonusername · 12/02/2022 07:31

Look after yourself because no one else will

Mo819 · 12/02/2022 07:39

Never judge man untill you've walked man in his shoes.

When someone shows you who they are believe them.

CorpusCallosum · 12/02/2022 13:38

A scrunched up piece of loo roll on your perineum/stitches makes post-partum poos a lot less scary.

Sportslady44 · 12/02/2022 15:18

least said soonest mended!

Everything seems impossible until its done.

notanothertakeaway · 12/02/2022 16:47

To the PP who asked what "lefty lucy, right tighty" means, it's a way of remembering that you loosen eg jam jar lids by turning them to the left, not right

notanothertakeaway · 12/02/2022 16:49

"Most people are quite ordinary looking"

It's true, there are very few people who are truly beautiful or really ugly. I used to think i was very unattractive. It was reassuring to realise I probably looked okay ish, like most people

Casheeeew · 12/02/2022 16:55

Better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it (when out and about - I'm not a horder Grin)

IcedPurple · 12/02/2022 16:56

@CliantheLang

Never need anyone more than they need you.
Or, as Mark Twain supposedly said, "Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option."
Thatsajokeright · 12/02/2022 17:31

If in doubt, don't.

Coffeetree · 12/02/2022 17:47

That reminds me of a really interest quote from Jean Rhys. As an old woman in the 1960s reminiscing about her youth: "Back then there were fewer good-looking girls but more raving beauties". Something to that effect.
Sinthie · 12/02/2022 18:23

Don’t burn your bridges.

UserBot9to5 · 12/02/2022 18:27

It's a facebook meme, but ''what other people think of me is none of my business''. helps me deal with my family ostracising me and talking about me not to me.

sadpapercourtesan · 12/02/2022 18:27

This is soppy, but it stuck with me

I was on a crowded bus with 2yo DS2 and he was absolutely honking with laughter, he was in one of those possessed-by-the-devil moods and the more I tried to shush him the harder he laughed. Proper naughty belly-laughter (utterly gorgeous)

A little old lady leaned over and said to me "you see that glint in his eye? You can't give a child that, but you can take it away. Make sure you don't."

UserBot9to5 · 12/02/2022 18:31

@lemonsaretheonlyfruit

You catch more bees with honey than vinegar.

My ex of 12 years still hasn't worked out that we'd get on so much better if he was nice or respectful to me.

Also (from my mum) 'if it can't happen then it won't happen. I say this and use this a lot.

Yeh, my x the same but what he couldn't figure out was why I wouldn't just put up and shut up. He was thinking why doesn't she understand that there's no fighting when she shuts up and puts up and doesn't challenge me Confused

he found it ridiculous that I was so dumb.
