I don't think this is good advice at all.

What if you decide to make a really crazy investment or marry and have kids with a totally unsuitable partner?

Do as you would be done by.

Rather than learn from your mistakes better to learn from other people's.

You can't change any one else's behaviour- you can only change how you react to their behaviour.

You can always choose how you react.

People tell you who they are - listen rather than people they are who you want them to be.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you on experience!!

Not a quote but advice I regularly give - when you eat properly and get enough sleep your mind will be in better place. You can go a lot of years before realising that is a fact
