Mine is a famous quote;

People don’t remember what you say
People don’t remember what you do
But people always remember the way you made them feel

Becareful of how you treat people on your way up, you never know who you will meet again on your way down.

IcedPurple · 11/02/2022 21:07

@PigeonLittle

No one is thinking about you, they're all busy thinking of themselves. Just like you do.
Yes.

Or put differently.

"If you ever find yourself worrying about what people think of you, just remind yourself how rarely they do."

LemonViolet · 11/02/2022 21:10

It’s Not All About You

I really like this quote.
TyrantosaurusRex · 11/02/2022 21:35

(Lighthearted)

"Never trust a man with shiny eyes"

EezyOozy · 11/02/2022 21:39

"If in doubt, don't"

BeardieWeirdie · 11/02/2022 21:39

You can’t make someone love you. (My lovely mum when I was 16 and heartbroken.)

Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy? (Such a good mantra to avoid getting into or escalating an argument.)

IcedPurple · 11/02/2022 21:41

@Haggisfish3

Better to regret things you have done than things you haven’t.
I don't think this is good advice at all.

What if you decide to make a really crazy investment or marry and have kids with a totally unsuitable partner?

SisterRuth · 11/02/2022 21:45

Do as you would be done by.

Pembertonrd · 11/02/2022 21:45

Rather than learn from your mistakes better to learn from other people's.

Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Ragwort · 11/02/2022 21:46

You can't change any one else's behaviour- you can only change how you react to their behaviour.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 11/02/2022 21:47

You can always choose how you react.

Ledkr · 11/02/2022 21:48

Never buy tights for a mermaid.

LadyGagagagaga123 · 11/02/2022 21:51

Keep your love life and finances private

Anotherhill · 11/02/2022 21:52

Lefty loosy, righty tighty.
Said to me on an expensive professional training course, and literally the only thing I learnt that day that I have used since.

NeverChange · 11/02/2022 21:53

People tell you who they are - listen rather than people they are who you want them to be.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you on experience!!

itwasntaparty · 11/02/2022 21:54

Some of these are really sad.

Live your life to your own dance.

Sowhatywhaty · 11/02/2022 21:57

"Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about "

"People can only walk on you if you lay down"

"What's for you won't go past you"

Not a quote but advice I regularly give - when you eat properly and get enough sleep your mind will be in better place. You can go a lot of years before realising that is a fact Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/02/2022 21:57

People can only treat you the way you give them permission to... Eleanor Roosevelt I think.
If in doubt, do nowt... Wish I'd heard it earlier Hmm
People who don't respect your boundaries were benefitting from the lack of them.

KitBumbleB · 11/02/2022 21:57

Dont spend money you dont have

If you dont have the money to go out, stay home and read a book

1 person has a problem, 5 people... no problem (tell people when you are struggling)

Don't come at me with a problem, come at me with a solution

FredWinnie · 11/02/2022 22:02

Never burn your bridges

Bosephine · 11/02/2022 22:02

Stop trying to be liked by everybody. You don’t even like everybody.

Ilikewinter · 11/02/2022 22:02

Theres nothing to fear but fear its self.

Ask for forgiveness not permission.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/02/2022 22:02

Anotherhill what does that mean?

And to a pp, what are your tips on making money work for you?!

3peassuit · 11/02/2022 22:04

From my driving instructor, look where you’re going or you’ll go where you look. Sound advice.
