Hunderland · 09/02/2022 01:19

Phone dropped in the North Sea? Everything 'unfortunately' wiped from devices?

YABU - those things really were totally coincidental that happened just after they were told to hand them in

YANBU yeah ...right...

Just seen some of the conversation between Vardy and her agent(?) on Jeremy Vine. Not reflecting well. Iirc her reps have said that these messages only show what supports CR and not the messages which don't. Presumably because those messages are in the sea?

RitaFires · 09/02/2022 11:27

@nauticant I thought that in this kind of wholly unnecessary civil case that Rebecca Vardy's legal team would have strongly advised against it to the degree that she understood not to do it or could have refused to represent her in this matter. But I suppose that thinking doesn't apply as much to millionaires, where the law firm could lose a fortune if they don't represent her.

It is always entertaining when the narcissistic person who thinks they're unstoppable runs headfirst into the law.

nauticant · 09/02/2022 11:27

Most lawyers would happily take on Vardy as a client to represent her for this case. Lawyers relish a challenge which is good for honing skills and good for billable hours.

What really annoys a lawyer is having the rug pulled from underneath them because they were misled by a client about a material significant part of the case. Especially if it means they're made to look like a mug in court.

deleteasappropriate · 09/02/2022 11:28

@veevee04

It's just pathetic women who have never done a day's work in their entire lives clogging up the courts with their shite. Who cares.
Envy's not a good look you know, and if Vardy hadn't sued Colleen it wouldn't be in court.
ElftonWednesday · 09/02/2022 11:31

I found it all very funny this morning.

I don't think Vardy will suffer the same fame as Jonathan Aitken but her reputation is toast. Insomuch as it was anything to speak of to start with. She seems to be a sad school queen bee bully still living in the playground in her 40s.

Classica · 09/02/2022 11:33

I'd say all the WAG whatsapp group chats are buzzing at the moment.

ElftonWednesday · 09/02/2022 11:36

Though I hope Vardy has been advised that if she lies in court she can go to prison. She may yet do an Aitken, I imagine there's no telling her anything.

But doesn't it look bad and lose business if they keep losing cases?
nauticant · 09/02/2022 11:41

If she were to say anything false in court, then the people most likely in a position to prove this, and thus trigger the catastrophe of a perjury charge, would be The Sun newspaper.

Hypothetically speaking, no one in their right mind would want to be exposed to that kind of risk.

bowlingalleyblues · 09/02/2022 11:45

RV's excuse (although unlikely) that the leaks were by someone who had access to her account was possible. The idea that you would take out a libel action and then erase yours, your husbands and your agents messages on your phones AND computers had been lost seems insane.

Wagsandclaws · 09/02/2022 11:48

I've met her, infact met her is a stretch but my children used to go to the same school as hers ( we have moved to a different part of the country now ).

She studiously ignored anyone who couldn't be of benefit to her and yet by contrast her husband was always polite and friendly saying hello every morning that he dropped off their children.

She doesn't come across as very nice because she isn't, she will only be friends which those that serve to better her cause in life.

I did think that she was getting a lot of tv exposure at one time and it was to give her more public visibility but she shit herself in the foot by going in iacgmooh ( I didn't watch but fellow mums at the school did and said that she behaved in her default bully type manner).

Freshprincess · 09/02/2022 11:50

She could have apologised, ‘sacked’ her PA, and thrown some money at a relevant charity and it would all have gone away.

She has made herself look a million times worse.

Meanwhile, Colleen has achieved sainthood.

nauticant · 09/02/2022 11:52

she shit herself in the foot

An incorrect, but not wholly inaccurate, expression.

Wheresthebeach · 09/02/2022 11:53

Well... Dallas has been off the air for years...nice to have a real life version to watch.

Cabriolelegs99 · 09/02/2022 11:53

Well I guess the Sun journalist in question will know - and could testify - as to who was feeding him titbits? But they don't ever reveal sources do they?

TowandaForever · 09/02/2022 11:56

Will she get away with the lost phone stuff?

Aderyn21 · 09/02/2022 11:57

Can a court compel a newspaper to reveal their source. If I was a journalist I would not be willing to go to prison to protect a source for this sort of story

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 09/02/2022 11:59

@malificent7

I have no idea what is going on between these two self absorbed brays. I tried to read about it...nope... still no clue
Like other posters, I thought you meant brays and that it was a regional expression that I'd never seen before—it works brilliantly in this context.

I think only if it's something very serious like an issue of national security.

Then again, perjury is serious if it takes place.

GreekGod · 09/02/2022 12:12

I was almost convinced that Vardy was innocent after she'd just had her baby and was on Loose Women proclaiming her innocence a while back saying that Colleen had made her pregnancy stressful etc

But clearly not, a very good actress though !

Aderyn21 · 09/02/2022 12:22

Loose women shouldn't have had her on really, until this was all concluded one way or the other.

@nauticant - having worked with lawyers - 100% re honing skills and billable hours. One civil litigation lawyer I worked with did just this with a rich funded by mummy and daddy male client.

Exactly re rug pulled from underneath them - same client - complete shit show of a man - several GFs/wives/porting of mortgages and lied or led lawyer on re this. Very frustrating and we had to read through tons of "he bought me X (Tiffany Bean) necklace" etc... so tiresome.

Funnily enough that lawyer (fairly newly qualified) did it for approx 2-4 years and now is a teacher at his kids private school and by far enjoying that rather than lawyering! Lawyers esp civil litigation ones are under lots of stress, dependant on winning cases, only as good as last and tons of paperwork compared to e.g. conveyancing which is really generally straightforward unless you run into any issues.

FrenchBulldogsareFab · 09/02/2022 12:29

Who is RV and why does she have an agent? What is her talent?

daisychain01 · 09/02/2022 12:31

I can't believe these nobodies continue to attract interest. They have absolutely no relevance or importance in the world, so they can spend as many millions as they like in court rooms, who gives a fck?

They are married to men who earn a lot of money, and thereby take part in a social scene that is much scrutinised in the press for scandals and tawdry excess.

It's like being in the Georgian era, with added Instagram.
