YABU - those things really were totally coincidental that happened just after they were told to hand them in

This is such an off article because it’s so pro-vardy, literally saying how dare Colleen get cross and try to use texts from RV calling CR a “c*” against Vardy!

This backs up my opinion that Vardy wasn’t selling stories to the sun for cash, but for positive press coverage

Very odd. Ignores all the names she called Coleen and concentrates on her calling Wayne a c* (as the article puts it). Talks about how upset Vardy is that Rooney is using this as evidence.

The most ridiculous bit is where it is alleged Vardy suspected Rooney was trying to find out who was giving stories about her to the press and advances that as evidence that it wasn't Vardy. To quote a "source", "This shows Becky and Caroline had sussed Coleen and knew about her plans months before she carried them out — so why would they then leak stories? It doesn’t make sense."

That is an incredibly weak argument. Assuming it was Vardy and Watt, they would carry on leaking stories because they didn't think Rooney would be able to catch them out.

I think the Sun is trying to say that Watt and Vardy wouldn't have leaked stories if they knew Rooney suspected something.

Someone in the Sun office is pissing themselves over this whole thing.

Yes, that is exactly what they are trying to say, but it is a weak argument. If Vardy and Watt believed Rooney wouldn't be able to catch them out, knowing Rooney suspected something wouldn't have stopped them.

For the person up thread who said about itv, they don't give 2 hoots, they have vardy out proud in the audience of dancing on ice. She's the reason I didn't watch the show last year. Itv employ and stand by such awful characters

I'm fascinated by Vardy's need for a PA.
Surely it can't be a full time job? Would love to see the job description.

I think Watt is her press officer and yes, for the right person that can easily be a full time job. I'm not saying Vardy deserves that level of prominence, but like it or not, she's a public media figure with a lot of engagements and is paid well for them...many of them will be a result of her publicity officer working the connections.

She has alot of engagements? Really? I can understand Jaime maybe needing a press officer but what sort of engagements does she have? I'm not being goady, I've only ever seen her on Loose Women once.

Well she will go to parties and what not she will need her press officer to tell the press where she is so she can be papped! She hasn't done loose women for years although I think she did a weepy interview saying how distressed she was ! I think she mentioned she was a pregnant woman a few dozen times just to ram home how distressed she was.

I don't know much about her beyond this, but I understand she goes on TV shows and probably to related events to be papped, and to events with her husband. I'm not saying it's the most noble existence but there's a market for tabloid and sleb magazine fodder.

And now I'm glad there is, because it gave us this story!

Normally don't give a stuff about this kind of stuff but I'm team Rooney. I know Vardy will win but it will be a Phyrric victory. After all the point is to clear her name and she is looking like a complete dick ATM.

Newspapers that lose libel cases give the impression that it is almost impossible to defend them, but it isn't. Indeed, the most recent high profile libel case was brought by Depp against News Group Newspapers and was defended successfully. It is by no means certain Vardy will win.

Rooney's defence is that her statement implicating Vardy in leaking information to the press was substantially true. If she can convince the court that Vardy was responsible for the leaks (and the messages released certainly seem to point in that direction, suggesting that Watt was leaking on Vardy's behalf), she will win.

Can anyone explain why CR lost part of her battle yesterday and cannot include the PR agent in the legal claim? I’m not sure I understand it - I just read that CR had to pay the PR agent £65k?

CR is the only one coming out with any dignity with all of this
